Application Support Engineer, Austin TX 78731

6 month contract with  possible extensions. Must be a US Citizen or  Green Card  holder to qualify.  

PURPOSE:* Under limited supervision, follows standard practices and procedures to implement, analyze, and support designated product line(s). Works directly with internal project managers to execute deployment of hardware and software solutions to new and existing customers.
1.   Executes the technical implementation of our current product line(s) onto new and existing customer systems.
2. Acts as an escalation point for customer support to diagnose and resolve complex customer issues.
3. Works directly with project managers and the customer to define schedule, duration, and responsibilities of implementation projects.
4. Assist in the distribution and assignment of projects and tasks amongst other members of the team.
5. Recommend changes in support and implementation practices and procedures to increase the quality, speed, and efficiency of customer solutions.
6. Provide guidance and training to less experienced implementation and support personnel.
7. Think through the implications of changes to data and articulate those implications to the project team.
8. Work with the project team to analyze the options and variables available with a data set so effective choices can be made and risk can be mitigated.
9.    Accurately predict and quote the time it will take to complete a task based on assumptions you help identify.
10.  Define User Acceptance tests to ensure the product meets the project goals
11.  Identify the root causes on issues and clearly articulate the cause, the scope of the risk, and ways to mitigate the risk moving forward.
12.  Understand and articulate the impact and interaction of other tools on the options available to our customers.
13.  Navigate the hosted server/infrastructure environment so you are able to quickly locate and identify data or resources required to move a project forward.
14.  Completes required operating records such as time allocation reports, support tickets, etc.
15.   Performs other duties as required


Education Required 

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent. 

Experience Required 

* Five years and up to seven. 


Skills and Knowledge Required 

* Excellent analytical, problem solving and debugging skills 

* Able to work independently and multi-task. 

* Able to explain technical information in non-technical terms. 

* Able to work in a team environment, with internal and external customers. 

* Able to conduct multi-channel communications (email, phone, chat, and in-person) clearly and courteously with both external and internal customers. 

* Able to participate in an on call rotation for after hours, weekend, and holiday coverage in a 24/7 support environment. 

* Effective time management skills. 

* Strong foundational knowledge of AFP, PDF, XML, and other output formats 

* Experience with full document lifecycle management (from data extraction to document composition) 

* Experience with WinBatch or other programming language
