Production Supervisor, Spaceship Propulsion

Description:

Your Mission
    To Lead a team of Expert Rocket Motor Technicians and be accountable for the safe and effective production/build of Virgin Galactic Rocket Motors Work with the Rocket Motor and Propulsion System Leadership Team to effectively execute the Rocket Motor production build plan in accordance with annual operating plan and schedule Orchestrate and assign work to the shop floor to ensure daily deliverables are met Support and lead the deployment of a Continuous Improvement Culture Work with Engineering to ensure all builds and processes are conducted to the highest quality standards, in accordance with Manufacturing Work Instructions. Coach/train mentor and develop team members for professional improvement and growth Execute initiatives that promote the improvement of safety, quality, efficiency, and morale Maintain general knowledge of the process and builds to effectively oversee work, as well as troubleshoot bottlenecks or obstacles that may arise Effectively communicate/work within internal departments and supporting functions as needed for support of Rocket Motor production and all company goals Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action Effectively communicate manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data Responsible for safety, cleanliness, and execution of work on the shop floor Lead by example: sets expectations for staff and monitors delegated activities Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Powerpoint, Word, Excel, and Project Train and monitor ERP functions as implemented by the company Strong understanding of composite and aerospace systems to effectively lead projects/work on the floor.
What you bring
    3+ Years' experience as a lead or a supervisor in an aerospace or production environment 3+ Years' experience working with the following: propulsion systems, composite or Aerospace manufacturing, and similar practices of work Strong understanding of Aerospace or production manufacturing Ability to read and interpret manufacturing work instructions, tolerances, quality checks, and assembly processes Strong team player with excellent leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills Great attention to detail and continual pursuit of perfection Excellent organizational skills capable of juggling and completing multiple tasks Works well under pressure Autonomous and capable of making decisions and delegating tasks Ability and knowledge of implementing lean philosophies preferred Able and willing to work in non-temperature controlled environments
