We are currently seeking exceptional candidates who wish to be a part of the commercial space revolution. Our fun, fast-paced, and collaborative team designs, builds, and flies the Dream Chaser Cargo System, an ambitious flagship program to create our Nation's only commercially reusable space plane. With your help, we will conduct many safe and successful missions over the next decade to deliver critical cargo to and from the International Space Station. These flights for NASA will enable us to build an unprecedented commercial space transportation network around the Dream Chaser, which provides affordable, cutting-edge orbital capability and return to Earth services onto runways around the globe. The future of space transportation is now.

You will primarily serve as a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for development of thermal protection system (TPS) pilot production plant. You will work as a focal point for TPS material production used in the CRS2 program. The Manufacturing Engineer works in both leadership and support roles, working with design engineering, planning and procurement, quality engineering, and production. You will report to the TPS Production Lead and work in concert with planners, buyers, the engineering team, operations team, and all other program elements to help with program execution. You will be tasked with a wide range of data analysis and processing, including but not limited to schedule refinement, critical path and critical path credibility models, cost bill of materials analysis and spend planning, and verification planning.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

    Drive, develop and optimize processes for TPS material development

    Design and specify equipment to be used for TPS manufacturing

    Coordinate with vendors on equipment selection and procurement

    Write and coordinate verification plans for equipment and processes

    Manage and solve technical process and material issues

    Manage time and schedule to deliver new products and processes on time to meet program need

    Assist in the development of material inspection and quality control

    Support non-conformance resolution

    Support long term planning of TPS material development

Must-haves:

    Requires Matriculation into an Engineering Program

    Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams

    Previous experience and skills in project definition, simulation, implementation, lab integration and test

    Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment
