Environmental Health and Safety Director
Responsibilities
Develop ABL's overall EHS strategy and oversee all policies and procedures development Drive alignment across business units Act as a strategic business partner for departments Develop, recommend and implement programs to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal EHS regulations including documentation, reporting, training, and program development. Monitor effectiveness of all EHS policies, practices, and processes to determine efficiency and effectiveness. Recommend improvements to achieve and deliver improved results. Facilitate organization and leadership development efforts to address root causes of EHS related issues. Act as principal advisor to Senior Leadership on EHS issues Lead, train, and develop EHS teams Establish and build EHS metrics to provide leadership with accurate reporting and drive overall business initiatives. Act as the lead liaison with external local State & Federal regulatory agencies. Work with engineering and test teams regarding new product, equipment and processes
Skills
Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, or Environmental Sciences Job related experience for 10 years minimum Ability to use and facilitate Root Cause / CAPA methodology Ability to create, analyze and interpret risk data Strong facilitation, influencing and communication skills Working knowledge of Clean Air, Clean Water, Resource and Recovery, and Toxic Controls Acts, Environmental Management Systems, OSHA (Including Voluntary Protection Programs) and EPA regulations, and EHS principles
