Sr. Network Engineer III
Direct Hire/Full-Time (requires on-site work)
Location: Tustin, CA preferred (may be open to Las Cruces, NM as well)
Innovative Aerospace Engineering client seeking Senior Network Engineer to help with network design and support for enterprise data, voice and video networks.
Overview
This position will report directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager. Work alongside vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of networks
Engineer enterprise data, voice, and video networks by using traditional and creative methods Maintain a secure transfer of data to a variety of locations via internal and external networks Provide top-notch support and thorough expertise in networking technology like hubs, bridges, hardware, and routers Design and enhance Company's network environments at all locations. Ensure that the network is secure, available, stable, efficient, and scalable.
Supports and develops the definition, implementation and enforcement of technical architecture policy, procedures, and standards. Configuration and maintenance of firewalls, networking equipment (switches, firewalls, access points), and Azure networking services. Completing network projects from end to end. Provides technical expertise and advice to systems professionals in support of the application environment as well as be an escalation point for other members of the team. Make recommendations on hardware purchases, stay up to date on upcoming renewals for warranty and support on networking hardware
Be part of rotating on call support. Travel to other company sites as needed; less than 10% Other duties assigned by Manager.
Requirements:
5+ Years' experience in a Network Support/Design Role Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Understanding of ITILv3 Self-starter with the ability to perform independently with little or no supervision Strong time-management skills with the ability to multi-task Effective collaborator with team members of both IT and other departments
Knowledge of data switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, and network security. Multi-vendor experience is a plus (Cisco, Dell, Brocade, Extreme, Palo Alto, etc.). Ability to communicate complex systems information clearly and concisely. Knowledge/experience on network monitoring applications.
Experience building and troubleshooting complex network architectures. Strong grasp of L1-7 issues with xSTP, link aggregation, ACL implementation. Extensive knowledge with TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, PPP, PPTP, IPSec, SMTP, SNMP, STP, VTP,HSRP, RADIUS, 802.11a/b/g, 802.1x, TACACS+ protocols Excellent communications skills verbal and written. Ability to thrive in a team environment.
Available for after-hour work if/when required and subject to reasonable business travel. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds Helps others be successful in daily work. Proactively communicates with others and has good presentation skills Organizes and plans own work and that of other team members Can be counted on to meet commitments and execute work per schedule

Educational Requirements:
Associate Degree or higher or 5 yrs. of relevant Network Engineer or Administration experience Network Certifications a plus, CCNA/N+
Professional Requirements:
5+ Enterprise Network Firewall administration, configuration, and optimization
Strong understanding of Cybersecurity and Information Security from a networking perspective
Certifications are a plus; CCNA/CCNP Azure Cloud experience a plus Working with various firewall technologies such as Palo Alto Network, Checkpoint or Cisco.
