Software Engineer III (Systems & Testing) - Contract)

As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:[TG3]

    Review and analyze software design descriptions, ICDs, and requirements in coordination with development teams Coordinate requirement verification methods and criteria with appropriate stakeholders Develop, peer review, and manage test plans, test cases, test scripts, test procedures, and test reports for various levels of test Manage and coordinate test events on Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop test platform configurations Manage and coordinate expectations across functional teams, including the software development team, the software tools team, and the simulation development team Execute developmental tests and formal verification tests Analyze test results and author test reports Investigate, create, and close bugs/issues Ensure that software standards are met and that all test artifacts adhere to SNC standards

Must Haves:

    Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience Relevant work experience may substitute for required education Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles Software test experience Experience writing test plans, test cases, test scripts, and/or test procedures Test data analysis and root-cause analysis experience Excellent communications skills

Must Haves:

    Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry Thorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM) Proficient in Python test script development Experience with automated Test-Frameworks (both custom and commercial) and implementing modern test methods Embedded software product verification or qualification experience Experience with Linux/Unix command line interfaces, writing shell scripts Experience with network communication protocols including Ethernet and MIL-STD-1553 Agile development methods and scrum experience Experience designing and executing tests for complex fault management logic The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
