Your Mission
Seeking a social media manager and proven community builder to help develop the brand's overall presence, personality and cultural relevance online. This role will execute channel-specific strategies, develop social media personas, and drive meaningful interactions with our customers, followers and beyond. The Social Media & Community Manager will support the Director of Digital Brand Marketing Strategy through content planning and posting, trend monitoring, insight mining, creative and campaign ideation.
The ideal candidate is ambitious, organized, creative, and a step ahead of digital and cultural trends.
Candidates must be able to commute to the Tustin CA office 2x a week. This is a hybrid remote role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee timelines and internal communications to support the day-to-day content calendaring process Develop cross-channel content calendar through asset selection/creation and copywriting Provide best-in-class social media engagement efforts to build our community in a strategic, creative fashion Keep a sharp eye on social, cultural and competitor trends and content to ensure the brand is strategically and creatively engaged on each social platform Collaborate with the Director of Digital Brand Marketing Strategy to evolve and improve the overall social media strategy and experience Work with creative teams, designers, and producers to develop highly engaging and effective campaigns and content that drive overall success of brand goals Work with data team and stakeholders to evaluate and report on the performance of campaigns, or create regular actionable insights Responsible for building and maintaining community of brand fans and customers through authentic, human and on-brand engagements or digital experiences Contributes to the development of the brand's internal and external influencer relationships Assists with the maintenance and content creation of Virgin Galactic's digital touchpoints including website, blog and corporate channels.
What you bring
REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a community manager and/or social strategist in creative organizations or brands A deep understanding and working knowledge of social media platforms, audience behaviors, best practices, and trends on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit An insatiable passion for digital trends, pop culture and the future of space travel A demonstrated ability to execute strategic and cutting-edge brand moments online Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to strategically tailor voice and tone
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in optimization and interpretation of data programs and and tools Experience managing agency partner relationships Ability to create content and/or creative briefs for photo and video productions Proven relationships with media, influencers, platform partners
