Instructional Designer (2) - CA

Description:
Chipton-Ross is seeking 2 Instructional Designers for openings in in El Segundo, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role requires a good grasp of instructional design best practices and a passion for creating engaging, challenging training for a variety of applications. Ability to display a high level of creativity and analytical skill which will be used to create learning content for a variety of both technical and non-technical purposes. Be comfortable working in a collaborative environment and have a good fundamental grasp of both web-based and instructor-led training delivery methods and developmental processes and should be able to demonstrate experience delivering training in more than two industries or work environments.
- Uses grounding in both theory and practice of fundamental TNA best practice to be able to work independently with customer and end user to perform best practice analysis.
- Conducts research, and make recommendations for the deployment of existing and emerging training technologies to solve market challenges.
- Is able to build and maintain effective customer relationships from project to project and work with stakeholders to achieve effective learning outcomes.
- Works well with others to build courses, is able to communicate effectively, especially to communicate intent on any given project, understands team requirements to be able to produce required work.
- Builds effective storyboards in clear, well-designed layouts that contain at least some more complex interactions or multimedia content, should it be needed and adapts to the requirement of the job.
- Should have a functional knowledge of a training development software to be able to provide strong instruction multimedia direction throughout storyboard development.
- Has a thorough grounding in pedagogical best practices, and also has a grasp on the larger implications of training effectivity across the learning enterprise, can identify where existing courses may be weak and can make recommendations accordingly.
- Has a good grasp of most of the technical requirements for any given project, utilizing a basic understanding of production software to communicate the requirements effectively to the team and the customer.
- Can work to deadlines and is comfortable working to time and cost restrictions on any given project. Is able to handle problems in the project pipeline should they arise. Can estimate time and resources effectively, and is able to fit this into existing work schedules.
- Has an understanding of delivery methods, and is able to create blended learning solutions that give good results at least a level 2 on the Kirkpatrick scales for training effectivity.
- Has knowledge/experience of two or more industries and their working methods. Is adaptable to both technical and non-technical content.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 3-4 years’ experience developing courseware in the L&D/E-Learning field.
- Working knowledge of Captivate and / or Storyline.
- LMS/LCMS Knowledge preferable.
- Expertise in MS Office Suite.
- Adobe Suite Knowledge preferable
- Customer Service/Project Management skills.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:
ORGANIZATION: Show a high degree of organization and time management, and be able to handle multiple workflows simultaneously.
LEADERSHIP: Take ownership of projects and demonstrate leadership when directing course development direction and have a strong sense of completing a job to required quality standards.
DRIVE: Be driven to succeed and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
ANALYSIS: Possess strong analytical skills to conduct training needs analysis, collate and understand source materials and information from SME's and stakeholders.
COMMUNICATION: Excellent communication skills in both verbal and non-verbal format is essential. Should be generally outgoing and comfortable working with others.
CREATIVITY: Display a strong sense of problem solving through creative practice and be able to innovate to provide both visually and conceptually striking training products.

EDUCATION:
Accredited Degree or similar level qualification preferable.
