RF Engineer Level 3

Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES: (Requires active clearance)
Architects and designs Radio Frequency systems and circuitry. Designs and develops RF circuitry used in high frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. Responsible for hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test. Prepares test methods and specifications; analyzes and tests RF hardware to verify performance characteristics. Provides inputs to Product Development for formal documentation and supports manufacturing during the deliverable assembly and test phase. In addition, develops RF System/Subsystem Architectures consisting of: antennas, transmitters, receivers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, RF conversion elements and transmission line equipment. Performs link analysis and optimization, including effects of propagation medium and possible interference sources. Develops and allocates RF system and subsystem functional and performance requirements. Identifies and tracks RF technical performance measurements (TPMs). Performs RF system/subsystem/component trade studies and CAIV analysis. Supports Life Cycle Costs, reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis. Successful candidate will Perform RF/Analog production support and development work for advanced state-of-the-art receivers, transmitters, antennas, radomes, and anti-jam GPS systems. Design, test, and evaluate RF, analog, and digital hardware and test equipment. Perform computer aided circuit design. Applicant should have some experience with laboratory work/testing and with analog, RF, and digital hardware, including practical experience with network analyzers, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
RF Board Design experience required. Strong organizational and communication skills. Familiarity with MS Office applications. Problem solving skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
RF design, digital/analog circuit design, antenna and radome design, test equipment design and programming, Spice, HFSS, ADS, Matlab, Labview, Wireless Communication. Experience with schematic capture and printed wiring board layout using industry tools (Cadence, ORCAD, Mentor Graphics, Zuken CR-5000).
