Stress Engineer

Description:
Responsibilities:

Conduct structural analysis using classical hand analysis methods and finite element analysis techniques for both metallic and non-metallic structures.
Interpret customer requirements and develop formal, controlled engineering documentation such as structural analysis reports and specifications.
Prepare and deliver design review materials to support technical meetings with suppliers and internal/external stakeholders.
Evaluate designs to determine preliminary sizing of structural reinforcements and define load paths for structural modifications.
Support the design process from preliminary and conceptual stages through critical and detailed design phases.
Prepare, review, and approve structural substantiation reports that meet technical requirements for the program and certifying authorities (TCCA/FAA/EASA).
Perform static strength assessments of primary structures, secondary structures, and flight test installations.
Conduct fatigue and damage tolerance assessments based on specific customer mission profile requirements.
Assist with Material Review Board (MRB) duties to support operations activities as needed.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant stress engineering experience.
Proficiency in utilizing FEM tools such as Patran, Nastran, Nasgro, Altair.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
Advanced knowledge of CATIA V5.
Familiarity with civil aircraft certification regulations and experience in certification procedures.
Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to collaborate constructively in a cross-functional team environment.
Self-motivated, independent, and capable of multitasking efficiently.
Thorough understanding of aircraft structural load paths and experience with analysis methodologies for primary and secondary structural components (static, fatigue, and damage tolerance).
Knowledge of Material Review Board (MRB) processes is desirable (may be required for certain positions).
Experience in integration roles or functions is an asset.
