Description:
A material review board (MRB) engineer performs duties related to the complex engineering problems of aerospace design and development.
As an MRB engineer, your responsibilities include reviewing and resolving defects and nonconforming conditions in assemblies, documenting and determining if abnormalities are related to engineering issues, and ensuring corrections will not negatively affect the functionality of systems.
You also verify that materials are structurally adequate for their purpose in the assembly, monitor installation of those materials, and help implement any changes as needed.
The Liaison Engineer reviews defects and establishes root cause, provides an acceptable disposition to repair the discrepant condition using engineering principles and determines if corrective action required.
This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Client multiple Blue Moon lander product lines.
To further Client mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
This position reports to the Design Section inside of the Lunar Transportation business unit. As part of a growing, hardworking, and curious team of design engineers, you’ll be deployed to programs that shape the future of Cleint .
Your skill in spacecraft structures as MRB liaison will support delivery of safe, reliable, ready to install hardware that meets requirements, while doing so within the allocated cost and schedule requirements, will lead to a rewarding career with Client .

Responsibilities
Document non-conformance tags for spacecraft structures
Analyses variations to part print specifications which effect part form, fit, and function
Evaluate and provide a course of action regarding the ultimate disposition of the parts
Evaluates areas of non-conformance regarding defects arising during the manufacturing process and as compared to the product definition requirements as defined by the drawings
Perform design engineering analysis of discrepant machined parts manufactured in an aerospace manufacturing facility
For example, it may be used “as-is” with no corrective action, reworked to a condition that is acceptable for use, repaired, or scrapped
This analysis will include performing tolerance stacks, stress, metallurgical, aerodynamic, dynamic, NDT, and heat transfer analysis

Q ualifications
Minimum of a B.S. Degree in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering
2+ years of experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle.

Desired
Previous experience with new aircraft or spacecraft fabrication
Previous experience with aircraft MRO
