NC Programmer with Espirit and CATIA V5

Description:
Principal Duties:

• Plan machining operations by reviewing work orders, 3D model, engineering GD&T tolerances, materials, specification, and machining parameters.
• Works on project team with primary responsibility in startup and run-off actions to introduce new machining centers into production
• Provides guidance to CNC programming staff in best practices. Assists in establishing best practices and follows-up to insure they are followed correctly
• Analyze drawings and design data in order to calculate correct machining methods, machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates in accordance with leading-edge industry best practices
• Programming CNC mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation values
• Leads in the design and creation of modular fixturing and quick-change tooling
• Maintain specifications; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes

Qualifications:

• Eight years of CNC programming experience which includes 5 axis vertical milling, lathes with live tooling and 4 axis horizontal milling
(must have 3 year experience in 4 axis horizontal mills)
• Demonstrated experience in new equipment and new program startups
• Design and application of universal or modular fixturing including zero-point
• Experience in the operation of pallet systems including the establishment of database parameters
• High speed or profit milling of aluminum in aerospace or automotive industries
• Proficient understanding in use of Presetting machines
• Good problem solving and conceptual skills
• Excellent communication skills to convey detailed instructions to machine operators, programmers, and suppliers.
• Proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming
• Interpret GD&T
• Demonstrated experience in improving machining cycle times (speeds & feeds) and setup times in aerospace or automotive industrial production environments
• CNC programming using Esprit or CATIA V5 Advanced Machining
• Proficient understanding of CATIA V5 3D design
• Basic metal fabrication skills
• Experience in machining aerospace composite materials and using high speed routers
• Associates Degree, Machinist/CNC Programming
