Job Description

This position is for a Manufacturing Engineer that performs conventional to advanced engineering assignments applying concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing operations. Checks maneuverability of existing products and implements manufacturing processes and changes to improve products and reduce costs.

Primary Responsibilities

%u2022 Performs Manufacturing Engineering assignments under general direction and supervision.

%u2022 Use FM Techniques to assist Product Engineering on the development of new products and the redesign of existing products.

%u2022 Develops routines and labor standards and updates the EARP System.

%u2022 Writes and/or modifies manufacturing work instructions and acceptance test procedures.

%u2022 Plans the sequence of operations and procedures and documents manufacturing standard work and routing.

%u2022 Designs systems, processes and equipment to increase efficiency, decrease costs, and improve the quality and reliability of product.

%u2022 Design tools and fixtures for production and acceptance testing.

%u2022 Designs and modifies small cell or simple assembly lines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.

%u2022 Designs and implements complex manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control to ensure compliance and effective production.

%u2022 Improve facilities layout of production floor space to establish maximum utilization of equipment considering economic factors, process flow, and operator efficiency and comfort.

%u2022 Monitors and ensures mandatory modifications, programs, and bulletins are incorporated or complied with, as required by the customer and the applicable regulatory requirements, to ensure legal compliance and adherence to quality standards.

%u2022 Identifies opportunities or implements changes, on a need basis, to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts to optimize productivity and ensure optimal use of resources.

%u2022 Audits maneuverability of existing products, and recommends modifications or adaptations to address quality, customer, product, or productivity constraints.

%u2022 Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.

%u2022 Conducts analysis of manufacturing processes and equipment to diagnose failures.

%u2022 Analyze customer returns for root cause and leads corrective action efforts in cooperation with Product Engineering.

%u2022 Develops and updates PFMEAs.

%u2022 Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control through the application of Lean principles.

%u2022 Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and provide cost benefit analysis by evaluating cost factors and schedules. Plan, execute, and document engineering economic challenges.

%u2022 Maintain awareness of start-of-the-art technology and the applicability of how it can be leveraged to improve the Company's competitive position in the assigned area.

%u2022 Develop tools that enable manufacturing, aid process improvement or address safety concerns.

%u2022 Research new processes, methods, and equipment and make recommendations to achieve continuous improvement in assigned areas of the factory.

%u2022 Design, develop, and improve station loading/line balancing.

%u2022 Create and maintain a factory staffing plan based on sales demand.

Preferred Qualifications:

%u2022 Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

%u2022 AutoCad 2D experience is required

%u2022 Experience with Fluid Power and Mechanical Systems, and Lean Manufacturing Principles

%u2022 Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data

%u2022 Must have strong analytical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

%u2022 Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred

%u2022 Siemens NX experience is preferred



Education: Bachelor's degree (in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering) with 2+ yrs experience.

Experience: Proficient Excel skills, firm understanding of DFM Techniques, ERP System experience
