Mechanical Engineer

Description:
Inconen is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our client, a well-known Aerospace Company, in Brea, CA.

**Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen**

Job Description:
1. Mechanical Engineer will manage deliveries of mid to high level complexity research, design, and development of mechanical applications to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and ground test / mechanical tests.
2. Additionally responsible for the CAD support of design projects and execution of Engineering design changes.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Duties include the interpretation/analysis of customer test requirements, subsequent cost estimates to support test programs.
2. Design, implement, and maintain test processes for Hoist and Winch hardware using lean philosophies and techniques.
3. Take a leadership role in driving action in the development, planning & implementation of timely and effective corrective actions for problems during product manufacturing and testing.
4. This can involve testing, data analysis, and interface with all aspects of the engineering department.
5. Duties include the interpretation/analysis of customer test requirements and subsequent cost estimates to support an appropriate test program.
6. Responsibilities also include daily interface with VSL's, Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering organizations to ensure that customer committed hardware and data deliveries are consistently met.

Typical Duties:
1. Support laboratory testing of hoist and winch hardware.
2. Develop and validate tooling, test equipment designs (test harnesses, test boxes and acceptance test stands).
3. Author and maintain operation/test procedures (QTP, ATP) and reports.
4. Preparation of standardized operation/test Device Under Test.
5. Defining test rig and facility requirements.
6. Participation on program Integrated Product Development teams.
7. Review drawings and concepts and resolve testability concerns.
8. Support customer communication and travel to external sites to conduct testing as needed.

Experience/Qualifications:
1. Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Experience with advanced instrumentation and data acquisition systems is required.
3. Knowledge of NI test hardware and Lab VIEW is preferred.
4. Experience should also include 3+ years working on the testing of electromechanical/mechatronic systems and components such as motor controllers, actuator controls, & system controllers.
5. Experience with executing D0-160 & MIL-STD-810 qualification programs.
6. Capability of working independently and is self-motivated.
7. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal are required.
8. Ability to proficiently operate common Microsoft Office software products is required.
9. Experience with reading, creating and improving technical documentation (drawings, CAD models, test procedures).
10. CAD tools (Solid works/ NX) experience preferred.
