Gerber Operator

Description:

Your Mission
    Maintain accurate inventory, performing cycle counting, and physical inventory of raw material stock Perform accurate transactions in ERP system for issuing materials to appropriate cost centers/projects & ensuring proper authorization is received for high cost materials Perform regular cycle counting and investigate discrepancies over a threshold level Responsible for Loading and offloading of the Gerber table Experienced in working with different varieties of raw materials Working Knowledge of fabrics used in the production of composite parts, with the ability to identify potential fabric problems Organized and can prioritize cutting jobs according to needs of the Manufacturing Team Good Knowledge and familiarity with the usage of various cutting tools Responsible for Kitting and management of cut materials directly off the Gerber table until requested by the Manufacturing Team Management of scrap materials to reduce TSC's carbon footprint Accurately pick/kit material components supporting production work order builds. Responsible for on-time delivery of all kits & material components to internal & external manufacturing locations Distribute material shortage reports in advance of builds and utilize substitute components as directed Ensure materials are counted back accurately when returned from production, scrap is charged to the production order and materials are returned to stock. Train other material handlers/Gerber operators as necessary

What you bring
    Experience in high technology, advanced materials or aerospace industries preferred Good written/verbal communication skills Strong experience with material movement and computerized inventory management (Oracle preferred) Required to stand for extended amounts of time while operating the Gerber table Physically able to safely and efficiently handle and move raw material weighing up to 60 pounds Able to operate a manual pallet jack and move loaded skids weighing up to 200 pounds Able to operate a lift truck is a plus, but not a requirement - training will be provided Familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) Familiar with use of e-mail, including sending attachments Knowledge of EAR and ITAR requirements for international shipments is a plus Excellent attention to detail Effective organizational skills in dealing with incoming, outgoing, & customer owned products Able to successfully keep multiple tasks running simultaneously Works well with people, both internally and externally, and at all levels of the organization Able to prioritize and consistently meet deadlines Ability to communicate effectively via the phone, email, etc. Holds and able to maintain a valid California driver's license Self-starter with a willingness to learn new things Able to provide constructive feedback and creative solutions to problems High school diploma or equivalent
