Mechanical Designer; Creo Vehicle Design

Description:
*This is a full time, 9 month contract to hire position, located in Sterling Heights, MI*



We are seeking a Mechanical Design engineer who will be working on military land based armored vehicle design structures and components. The products we are designing will include vehicle turrets, hull structures including structural mountings, welded brackets, stiffeners, doors, hatches, access panels, lifting, towing, tie-downs, engine air and exhaust grilles. Candidate will be designing and modelling centric models and drawings using Creo 4



Required:
*2 years’ experience in mechanical designing, using Creo 4.
*Defense or automotive/truck/heavy vehicle industry experience
*Experience in structural designing and analyzing large components

*Familiar with MIL-STD-31000

*Understanding of the needs for Technical Data Packages (TDP) within DoD
*AS degree



Pluses:

*Strong Modelling and knowledge of ASME 14.5 (GD&T)
*Knowledge of Windchill (EPDM) and drawing library/repository systems (EDVS)
*Structures design, prototyping and production of military ground vehicles
