Liaison Engineer II - 2 Openings

Description:
Reviews damage reports to develop repair schemes, authors work instructions, and performs the stress analysis and substantiation supporting the repair with little supervision from a senior engineer. Repair development and substantiation will include a variety of analysis methods and working knowledge of mechanically fastened metallic structure, adhesively bonded metallic structure, composite structure.

Sound fundamental knowledge of and ability to apply repair analysis techniques such as Boeing Structures I and II, ABARIS/Laminate Plate Theory, Bruhn, Flabel, etc. Develops and substantiates complex repair schemes with little to no supervision.

Performs technical review and approval of less experienced engineer’s repair packages.

Mentoring less experienced engineers, co-ops, and interns.

Develop and/or peer review multi-use repair specifications, drawings, and engineering reports.

Review and interpret technical documents such as Drawings, Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs), Illustrated Parts Lists (IPL’s/IPC’s), Material Specifications, Process Specifications, etc.

Communicate and interact with customer engineering for repair development support and approvals of developed repair schemes.

Troubleshoot failure modes and interact with shop mechanics to develop cost effective repairs that are feasible to accomplish in a timely manner that supports production schedule.

Must have:
• Liaison Stress Analysis experience
• Must have a BS degree
• Experience with classical REPAIR analysis methods (Bruhn, ABARIS/Laminate Plate Theory, Flabel, etc.)
• Knowledge of fastened metallic structure, adhesively bonded metallic structure and composite structure.
• Experience with Boeing aircraft highly preferred.
