Unique Skills:
You'll join a high-performing team of User Experience Designers as an advocate for user-centered design processes within an enterprise design organization. Experience in Design Operations and Project Management is of added benefit. You'll provide user experience guidance to company business units including Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Support, and Business Technology. You'll use design research methods to gather requirements from users and business stakeholders. You'll work in an Agile Scrum process and will be co-located with team members with roles as Scrum Masters, Developers, and Quality Assurance Analysts. Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in User Experience Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Human Computer Interaction or relevant curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. A Masters degree may be used to offset one year of experience; PhD may offset two years of experience. 3 years experience as a UX professional.

Position Purpose:
Define interaction models, user task flows, and interface specifications. Communicate scenarios, end-to-end experiences, and screen designs to stakeholders and development teams. Typically responsible for ownership of a small project or a significant portion of functionality on a product release. Informally presents design concepts and deliverables to design team; works with more senior designers to get approval to move projects forward and drive them to completion. Participates in both internal and external design reviews.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: 1. Gather user needs via design research methods. 2. Communicate learning's and requirements to business colleagues. 3. Generate ideas via sketches, mockups, and prototypes for testing with users. 4. Research existing design patterns and best practices and apply to design problems. 5. Critique and refine design ideas with UX team members. 6. Create user tasks and conduct usability tests to evaluate concept directions. 7. Create mockups and prototypes to communicate desired directions to development team members. 8. Create final specs and assets for implementation. 9. Work collaboratively with developers to create solutions that find a balance between business needs, usability, and development effort. 10. Support and improve our existing portfolio of products.

Additional Functions: 1. Proactively identifies opportunities to improve existing methodologies, processes or other areas of performance. 2. Proactively communicates issues and status as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Wind Project Engineer

Description:
Wind Project Engineer

Location: Jackson, MI
Duration: 1 year

Duties:
The primary role will be to support the development and execution of a new large-scale wind powered electric generating facility located in Michigan. The Wind Project Engineer is responsible for engineering, design, and delivery of grid connected wind generation systems on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Development, administration, and oversight of a wind farm EPC contract.
- Development, administration, and oversight of a major wind turbine generator purchase agreement contract.
- Review and approve submittals.
- Coordinate the response to requests for information (RFI)
- Support all site permitting and site logistics and planning
- Consults with the project construction organization concerning design constructability as related to field conditions, sequencing and scheduling of construction activities.
- Consults with project management concerning schedule, budget, and contractual terms as related to engineering deliverables.
- Support the development of technical specifications and bid documents for engineered equipment, materials engineering, and construction contracts
- Support the project in the evaluation engineering, vendor and contractor capabilities
- Responsible for the oversight of detailed design documents by the Engineer of Record, either by internal project engineering staff or by contracted services.
- Identify, analyze and recommend corrective actions to technical issues identified in the field during project execution or initial operation.
- Develop and/or review engineering drawings and calculations that detail plans and specifications for wind construction projects.
- Support testing and commissioning of new wind generation facilities.
- Communicate effectively with a vast group of stakeholders to ensure all technical aspects of the projects are completed per the safety, scope, schedule, and budgetary objectives.
- Attend and/or lead project coordination meetings.
- Participate in the closeout of projects including turnover of project files and record documents at project closure; captures lessons learned.
- Wind project development support including site feasibility studies, conceptual engineering design, and cost estimating support.

Skills:
The following skills and experience may set candidate apart from others:
- Experience in Wind Generation system design, permitting, construction, commissioning, operation, or maintenance.
- Experience with EPC contracts
- Experience with interconnecting wind generation to the electric transmission system.
- Experience in project management including the oversight of scope, schedule, and budget.
- Experience in procurement of engineered material, equipment and professional services.
- Experience coordinating and developing contract documents, specifically engineering drawings and technical specifications for both consulting and construction services.
- Advanced Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Education:
Bachelor of Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.
