Duties:
Our client in Orlando, FL is seeking an Aerospace or Mechanical Engineer to support the deceleration team. This team is responsible for design and analysis of the parachute systems used for air-extraction of our various launch vehicles. These air-extractions are similar in concept to standard military cargo extraction from aircraft like the C-130 or C-17A.

The successful candidate will be asked to perform parachute design activities through 6DOF simulation and loads analysis. This entails designing parachute structures, reefing ratios, riser and mainline lengths, etc. to ensure a successful extraction and descent while ensuring launch vehicle load capabilities are not exceeded. The candidate will be expected to read, understand, update, and maintain a 6 Degree-of-Freedom simulation used to simulate the extraction and descent of our clients launch vehicles. This position will require a background in vector mechanics, dynamics, and software configuration control processes. The candidate may also participate in estimating aerodynamic properties and loads through the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software.

50% - Activities to include tooling design, tooling procurement and fabrication, and conduct tooling functional checkout. Our automated test systems include those designed for testing RF/microwave/millimeter-wave electronics, power electronics, and digital electronics for space applications. Units requiring automated test range from single-board computers to switching networks, modems, and microwave electronics used in space-based applications. The person in this position will be responsible for test system architecture definition, hands-on test development and test system design, verification, validation and documentation, as well as providing project management and leadership for less senior personnel.

Applicable skills for this position range from test software development to electronics hardware specification and design. Experience in control, analog, digital or power supply circuit design is desired. Software/coding experience using LabView, Test Stand, C/C#, Python, FPGA Verilog/VHDL, and Matlab Signal Processing is a plus. Understanding intermodulation distortion, phase noise, and spurious measurement test techniques and familiarity with S-parameters is also a plus. Strong writing and presentation skills are required.

Job Summary:
Provide ground operations support for flight test planning, execution, and verification/validation of performance at the F-16 Combined Test Force (CTF). The applicant will also be expected to provide ground ops support at the F-22 & F35 CTF as needed. The applicant will team with US Air Force, contractor, and civil service engineers as part of an integrated test team for developmental and operational tests.

This position will serve as the principal focal point between aircraft maintenance and flight operations engineering personnel. He/she will
(1) the coordinate and direct the execution of pre-flight and post-flight activities to ensure aircraft test readiness,
(2) provide configuration control of aircraft software and hardware configurations to ensure that hardware, software, and instrumentation configurations are correct to meet test objectives,
(3) coordinate maintenance and logistic support for systems checkouts, flight operations, and anomaly troubleshooting, and
(4) coordinate as required with other organizations associated with test readiness.

This position will act as the principal focal point between maintenance, engineering and flight crew. Relays maintenance related aircraft constraints to the aircraft FTE's. Solve application and technical problems working collaboratively and independently with individuals from diverse technical disciplines and represent the organization frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts; Adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and learn new skills quickly.
