Specification Writing Analyst

Location: Canoga Park, CA
Rate: $30.00 - $35.00/HR
Duration: 3+ month contract
Shift: 1st Shift

Duties:
**NOTE: The duration of this assignment has the possibility of being longer than 3 months. This is a backfill and this role will be extended, possibly up to 2 years **

** Candidates must be U.S. Citizens **
** Permanent residents are NOT eligible for this role **
** Dual citizens are not eligible for this role. Also, candidates with a current non-U.S. passport in addition to a U.S. passport are not acceptable **
** In-person interviews are required. Candidates should be local or able to attend an in-person interview at their own expense. **

** Candidates must have Aerospace Specifications Writing experience. **
- Under general supervision and following established policies, ensures that technical documents are complete, accurate and adhere to military, customer, contract flow down, and company requirements in both form and content.
- Review documentation for general layout, format, style and organization as well as writing, graphics and critiquing.
- Work with the Integrated Product Teams to plan, write, and edit technical specifications/standards, reports, proposals, etc. for print and electronic publication.
- Responsible for determining the format required based on contractual requirements and Military Standards.
- Translate technical input into well-written, precise technical documents.
- Assists Configuration Management and others with technical reports, manuals, and presentations.

Skills:
Required:
- Knowledge of Mil-Standards for the preparation of specifications.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Strong background in English grammar and composition.
- Ability to operate effectively in a team environment.
- Required knowledge of various computer systems and applicable software documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Writer, etc.) to prepare reports and documents.

Desired:
- Windchill PLM, Visio and DOORS experience a plus.
- Understanding of copyright, export control (ITAR) and intellectual property policies.
- Ability to read drawings and view CAD models helpful.

Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and three (3) years of experience in a directly related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
