Job Description

You Will:

• Report to onsite Engineering Manager
• Act as Engineering technician / mechanical engineering mechanic with experience in test machinery, drive systems and gear boxes.
• Accountable for construction, assembly, installation, checkout and operation of various test machines and fixtures per Engineering Laboratory Operating Procedures and Engineering Instructions.

• Additional functions include the performance of acceptance tests, assembly and disassembly of Drive System components, preparing laboratory test procedures and maintenance of equipment.
• Responsible for building and testing of aircraft components, fixtures and tooling required to conduct tests.

• Interact with test engineers, laboratory technicians and test support groups.
• Requires record keeping, documentation and helicopter component assembly/installation.
• Interact with personnel in other laboratories.
• Interact with Manufacturing, Transportation, Maintenance, Quality, Dispatching, Tooling and various other departments.

You Will Need:

Job Description

Instrumentation Lab Technician (Aerospace Rotorcraft)

You Will :

• Report to the onsite Engineering Manager
• The Instrumentation Laboratory Technician is responsible for setting up, operation and maintenance of specialized instrumentation data acquisition systems.
• This includes the use of simple electronics equipment including ohmmeter and voltmeter. This includes wiring and soldering connections.
• He/she must possess technical skills for troubleshooting, maintenance and limited repair of low power DC circuits.
• Work on both metallic and Composite parts/ assemblies to fix strain gages and wiring for data collection
• There may be travel requirements for off-site testing which can last up to 8 weeks at a time. Also, candidate should
• Can work second shift if necessary.

You Will Need:
• Ability to solder and build cables, with knowledge of various connector types.
• Very good knowledge of strain gages, fixing them on surfaces such as Composite structures, metallic structures and pipes etc.

Position Summary:

Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations. Analyze processes and process improvement. Follows approved assembly procedures for component or aircraft structures, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions.
Positions and aligns subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points.
Inspects completed work to identify any needed rework before signing off; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and lerances.
Performs serviceability tests as required, utilizing test equipment specified in technical manuals.
Completes work package documentation as required by FAA and/or repair station manual.
Submits completed work to Quality Assurance for final/in progress inspection and certification of airworthiness.

Journeyman Technician Role requiring Intermediate Skills to perform most of the standard tasks within the technical area assigned to.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Fluid Dynamic Analysis

Description:
• Proficiency using analysis tools such as STAR-CCM®, CFD++, Tecplot, Pointwise, or equivalents.
• Perform fluid dynamic analyses of high-speed (supersonic/hypersonic) flow in support of propulsion system design and verification activities.
• Develop mathematical models to match the physics of the system under evaluation including proper analysis methods/tools, proper boundary conditions, and appropriate material properties.
• Analyses will be performed utilizing hand calculations, low fidelity tools, and or high fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) packages such as StarCCM+ and CFD++.
• Interpretation of analytical results and pertinent recommendations pertinent to system improvement.
• Preparation of technical reports and presentations of work product to both internal and external customers.
• Provide technical assessments of test hardware and test data including validation of analysis
• Support propulsion and subsystem IPT leads to ensure technical and cost execution of each system component.
• Due to the complex nature of the systems analyzed, the position requires working closely with multiple engineering disciplines including but not limited to Mechanical Design, Thermal, Structural, and Project Engineering, and to achieve program objectives in a timely manner.

Job Title: Test Engineer - Hypersonics

Position Description of Test Engineer:
The successful candidate will serve as a Test Engineer that will conduct electrical and environmental testing efforts.
Specific duties include development of test procedures utilizing electrical/mechanical test equipment, conducting test in the production of Hypersonic Glide Bodies (HGB), analyzing test results, and documenting results in test reports.
