Weld Process Engineer

Description:
The ideal candidate will provide daily production support and project support for the welding of aerospace fuel nozzle components & assemblies.

The Engineer will be responsible for daily production support of all weld processes within the Iowa fuel nozzle business. Weld processes include both manual and semi-automated processes.

Scope includes:
•process maintenance oversight & recommendations;
•weld tooling design;
•new weld development & analysis including weld process sheets, setup sheets, etc;
•mechanical & materials design support including process recommendation & joint selection;
•support NADCAP accreditation process;
•manage weld operator certification process;
•support weld process technology selection & development;
•support capital equipment purchases;
•manage cost reduction projects related to welding;
•author weld quality & inspection reports as needed.

The Engineer will be required to support the Carroll, IA facility (90 miles) on as-needed basis for NADCAP audits, internal weld audits, & weld operator training. Estimate approximately 1 trip per month.

Prerequisites
•BS is required. Weld Engineer would be preferred (but do not have to have a degree in welding), degree is secondary however degrees in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Welding Engineering are preferred.
•Strong preference for candidates with GTAW & Laser Welding experience.
•Non-Destructive Testing & Metallurgical Testing experience would be beneficial.
