Program Manager

Description:
Seeking an experienced Aerospace Program Manager with a minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in applying project/program management principles and processes in an aircraft development, testing and customer delivery environment. We need candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit, fueled by innovation, collaboration, with emphasis on forward thinking. will coordinate efforts related to the design, development, testing, proto‐typing, documentation, engineering outsourcing, flight testing, and FAA Part 400.

Qualified candidates will have experience successfully developing and managing projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven aircraft or manufacturing environment. This Program Manager must have proven ability to successfully manage complex strategic projects that transitioned to production and customer delivery. You will need to be experienced in interfacing directly with customers as needed and executive leadership, as well as demonstrate an ability to balance technical knowledge and business acumen to manage this product. The right person will have a strong technical background in composite structures, avionics and mechanical systems, with experience leading and managing complex product or system developments.

Key Components
 Oversee and manage the development, implementation, testing, and integration of the air vehicle
 Act as the central focal point and authority for execution of the project tasks and goals
 Coordinate the engineering activities between the various engineering specialties within the product team
 Work closely with production management and engineering to continuously improve systems, processes, and production
 Formulate and clearly communicate overall program strategy, objectives, and plans, and leads team with clarity and purpose
 Monitor and report to management the progress of each functional element of the assigned product responsibility in terms of work, schedule and cost performance
 Track and manage the product engineering risks – identifies potential issues and problems that could impact program performance, and takes proactive action to resolve issues regarding cost and schedule

Key Requirements
Professional Requirements
 10+ years’ of specifically relevant experience
 Preference is for current experience as an air vehicle program manager
 Experience with management of aerospace research and/or development programs, as well as with aircraft production/manufacturing programs
 Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of aircraft structure, hardware components and subsystems is strongly preferred
 Strong experience resolving technical, schedule and cost problems related to the assigned program/product responsibility
 Effective leadership skills, including being an excellent listener and motivator
 Assertive self starter, with the ability to accomplish goals outside of their functional group
 Working knowledge of aircraft and space systems and familiarity with relevant aerospace standards (FAA, FAA‐AST etc.).Excellent organizational skills and problem solving skills
 Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint
 Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).

Educational Requirements
BA/BS degree required, MA/MBA/MS preferred
