DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Provides expertise in tooling design for both large and small composite laminates including primary structure and control surfaces.
•Understands composite tooling theory and the selection of appropriate tooling material for the application and/or production volume required.
•Applies technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned engineering problems encountered on the production floor with regard to damaged tooling.
•Applies engineering principles effectively for design, development and sustaining engineering activities related to aircraft systems integration and installation.
•Documents findings, communicates results to engineering staff, makes technical presentations and may represent the organization as the prime technical contact on small identifiable projects.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

The Mechanical HVAC Engineer will produce moderately-complex technical designs and some analysis mechanical to new and existing facility related systems in support of ULA Atlas V, Delta IV and future Vulcan Launch Operations at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Florida. The successful candidate, as part of ULA’s Engineering and Infrastructure Team, shall be required to produce accurate and detailed design drawings as well as generate validating system analysis calculations. He/she will gather information, perform field walk-downs, and create or revise electronic CAD files. Projects typically involve implementations being performed by external Contractors, in accordance with construction documents.

The successful candidate should have at least 15 years of relevant experience in designing, building, modifying, testing and maintaining commercial and industrial HVAC systems. Job Description / Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Engineer will produce moderately-complex technical designs and some analysis mechanical / structural modifications to new and existing facility related systems in support of ULA Atlas V, Delta IV and future Vulcan Launch Operations at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Florida. The successful candidate, as part of ULA’s Engineering and Infrastructure Team, shall be required to produce accurate and detailed design drawings as well as generate validating stress analysis calculations. He/she will gather information, perform field walk-downs, and create or revise electronic CAD files. Projects typically involve implementations being performed by external Contractors, in accordance with construction documents. Project support will also include generation of Statement of Work, Contractor contract documents for schedule integration, fabrication and installation phases. The successful candidate will be required to coordinate multiple construction activities and project schedules around launch activities. The candidate shall possess and apply knowledge and technical expertise to the design, analysis, and maintenance of facility related mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. The successful candidate should have at least 10 years of relevant design and analysis experience in building and/or modifying large industrial facility mechanical systems. The desired experience shall be in the following areas; water piping and plumbing, mechanical hydraulic systems, fire protection systems and light structural design. A smaller percentage of the work will involve the design and analysis of facility HVAC systems and mechanical components of support equipment and facility platform systems.

Skills:
This position requires knowledge of predominantly mechanical design, analysis and drafting practices and a sound practical knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and industry standards. At least 10 years of recent Autodesk AutoCAD experience. He/she shall have analysis experience using STAAD and/or RISA, Femap – NX Nastran and be able to create stress calculations by hand with Excel or MathCAD. Other 3D modeling and design experience in Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit or other Building Information Modeling (BIM) software is highly preferred.

Educational and Professional Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. A related discipline degree, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10+ years of professional experience. Professional Engineering registration in the State of Florida is preferred, although not required.

Senior Solid Propulsion Design Engineer

Under minimal direction, the Design Engineering Specialist performs professional assignments requiring complete working knowledge of application of concepts, practices, and techniques.

60% - Lead mechanical design activities for solid propulsion systems and components. Solid propulsion design activities include strategic booster motors, tactical rocket motors, controllable solids, and manufacturing tooling design. Will independently develop design concepts, 3D models and support the development of detailed drawings for the manufacture of parts. Conduct trade studies and develop component specifications and procedures as required. Interact with component analysis, manufacturing, project engineering, quality and customer support groups. 20% - Participate in shop floor and production hardware processing at suppliers and internally.
