Description:
CREO CAD Designer III

Location: Canoga Park, CA
Pay Rate: DOE ($40/hr - $60/hr)
Duration: 6 month contract

** Candidates must be U.S. Citizens **
** Dual citizens are NOT eligible for this role. Also, candidates with a current non-U.S. passport in addition to a U.S. passport are NOT acceptable **
** Creo design experience is required **
** GD&T experience is required (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5) **
** PLM system experience is required. Windchill strongly preferred **

Duties:
• Perform and support mechanical design activities for rocket turbomachinery components and assemblies from concept through final detailed design.
• This position requires the development of design concepts, 3D models, and support the development of detailed drawings for the manufacture of parts.
• Activity requires key interactions with component analysis, manufacturing, project engineering, quality and customer support groups.
• Develop design layouts, engineering drawings, GD&T application, tolerance analysis, systems design and integration, fabrication process identification, and synthesis of higher level requirements to component level requirements.
• Applicant must have prior turbomachinery design or development experience.
Requirements:
• Proficient experience using CREO 2.0 CAD System
• Experienced user of Windchill PLM System or similar
• Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5M geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Excellent experience in the creation of mechanical engineering drawings
• 9+ Years of related Aerospace Industry experience
Skills:
• Must be an experienced and proficient Creo 2.0 CAD designer. Position requires experience and proficient use of Windchill PLM System.
• Advanced surfacing and modeling skills preferred.
• Strong working level knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M.
• Ability to create mechanical engineering drawings, and related specifications.
• Ability to write clearly and concisely.
• Understanding of appropriate codes, regulations and specifications as well as applicable customer requirements.
• Knowledge of design practices, manufacturing techniques and inspection requirements.
• May require the use of various computer systems to produce data, analysis and reports.

Education:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
• 9+ years of rocket propulsion design experience preferred.
