The Propulsion System Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design, integration and qualification of a full authority digital engine control systems meeting program and customer requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

• The Propulsion System Controls Engineer will be responsible for:
• Providing technical direction for propulsion system suppliers
• Developing system requirements, architectures, interfaces, performance specifications, plans/procedures, and schematics
• Supporting component, systems integration lab and flight test activities
• Coordinating with other integrated product teams, such as Integrated Vehicle Health Management, Avionics and Flight Controls, to define system interfaces and capabilities

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree is required. Major in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering is preferred.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required
• Experience integrating engine control systems with aircraft avionics and flight control systems
• Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with excellent written and oral communication skills, and PC skills.
• Experience with supplier management is preferred
• Experience mentoring engineers is preferred

Familiarity with the following is preferred:

• System engineering and configuration management processes. Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and SysML preferred
• Experience with the product development phase
• Cyber security applied to airborne systems
• System Architectures, such as Modular Open System Architecture, Open Architecture and Integrated Modular Avionics
• FAA, CFRs, Civil Certification and Military Qualification of software and airborne electronics hardware
• Generation of System Safety Assessments, Failure Hazard Analysis, Qualification/Certification plans and Test plans

Job Description

Aerospace Rotorcraft Flight Controls Engineer

You Will:
Flight Controls engineer is a multi-skilled technical person capable of providing expertise in conceptual design, development, integration, and verification and test algorithms for the Advanced Helicopter. This position will employ the skills above to assist in progressing overall Flight Controls system conceptual design readiness for a proposal response of the Advanced Helicopter program of record. The position requires coordination across system and program boundaries as the Flight Controls IPT representative to ensure alignment of air vehicle systems. This position will also develop Flight Control Systems content for the Advanced Helicopter program of record proposal related to all aspects of Flight Control Systems development, specifically hardware, software, control strategy, and verification, as well as, manage and provide status updates on the development, schedule, and risk associated with Flight Control System content readiness.

You’ll Need:

• At least 8 years of relevant Flight Control Systems experience with a focus in any of the following: hardware, software, systems integration, or control laws.
• Previous proposal experience is preferred
• Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with excellent written and oral communication skills, and PC skills.
• RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 27 and Part 29 for commercial and military qualification and certification of aircraft systems, and multiple data protocols
• Experience with Enovia, DOORS, and Serena Dimensions
• Development of system requirements, architectures, and schematics.
• Experience with current industry software languages and practices
• This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree is required. Major in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering or Computer Science is preferred. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.

Years of Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience in aerospace industry is required. Experience in Helicopter flight controls is preferred.

Job Description:

Performs avionics and electrical systems maintenance according to FCC, FAA and Company Policies and Regulations. Troubleshoots, tests, repairs and installs avionics components such as aircraft communication, navigation, radar and electronic instrument systems. Operates and maintains test equipment and trade associated tools.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs routine or special maintenance inspections to prevent failure of aircraft electrical and avionic systems and components; performs complete operational and functional checks on navigation, communication and flight control systems, including instrumentation and pilot static installations, etc. Fabricates wiring harnesses, installs/modifies avionic and electrical systems.
Determines when a component should be repaired or replaced; decides upon necessary repair scheme and quantity and type of parts needed to accomplish proper repair; secures same from Stores or departmental supplies.
Follows approved maintenance procedures for subject component or system, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturer's (OEM's) technical data, and work package instructions.
Inspects completed work before sign off to identify any needed rework and performs rework; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
Performs serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using test equipment specified by the original equipment manufacturer.
Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping off after finishing all designated operations.
Performs installation of digital avionic equipment.
Interprets avionic/electrical wiring diagrams, wire identification, harness fabrication, wiring and cable integrity, coax cables and fittings and connector assemblies.
Adjusts, repairs, or replaces malfunctioning components or assemblies, using hand tools and soldering iron.

Interprets flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problems.

Trouble shoots, repairs, reworks, and modifies worn or defective assemblies, components or systems.
Qualifications:

Education:

High School/ GED
Current A&P or an FAA Repairman Certificate (Avionics).
Desired:FCC License.

Experience:

5 years actual and recent depot level aircraft avionics experience is required, (repair of electrical systems, flight control systems, instrumentation and wiring); proficiency with: interpretation of avionic/electrical wiring diagrams, wire identification, harness fabrication, cables, fittings, circuits and connectors
Desired:Prior experience in executive jet repair facility.

Description:
A Technical Writer contract job in Springfield, NJ is currently accepting applications. This is 6 month+ contract position with our key aerospace client. In this role, you will develop a wide range of engineering documentation for human space system components, including reliability and FMEA, test procedures and reports, materials and MUAs and fracture control plans. To be considered for this role, you will have a B.S. Degree, along with 5+ years of technical writing experience, preferably within the aerospace and defense industries.

***Due to the nature of the work being conducted, U.S. Citizenship is a requirement***

Technical Writer Job Responsibilities:
* Write technical copy for various types of documents
* Develop a wide range of engineering documentation for human space system components, including reliability and FMEA, test procedures and reports, materials and MUAs and fracture control plans
* Assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications
* Gather technical information and prepare written text
* Maintain a current internal documentation library

Technical Writer Job Requirements:
* B.S. Degree in a technical discipline from an accredited university
* 5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer on programs and contracts of similar scope type and complexity, preferably within the aerospace and defense industries
* Experience with qualification test procedures
* Experience with multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc.
* Experience preparing reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences
* Experience working with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials
* Experience producing defense acquisition documentation, user manuals, training manuals, and other documentation utilized by the end-user community of DoD electronic equipment and systems
* Experience interpreting engineering and maintenance drawings, operational procedures to understand and blend large quantities of computer related information
* Ability to work in a fast pace team environment
