Mass Properties Engineer

Description:
Mass Properties Engineers are responsible for verification & validation activities. Applies mass properties techniques in support of airplane modification programs, develops methods & procedures for mass properties estimation, supports mass properties tracking & allocation, ownership of mass budgets, supports airplane weight & balance measurements, & flight test programs.

Responsibilities:
Understand, plan, and execute technical activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, and work instructions and specific customer requirements
Perform mass properties tracking & allocation
Develop database tools used for mass properties management
Use parametric CAD modeling tools to extract pertinent mass properties data
Prepare weight & balance reports in support of airplane modification programs
Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customer quality, cost, and schedule requirements
Estimate costs and submit bids for Engineering


Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or similar engineering and 5-10 years of aviation mass properties experience
Highly skilled in parametric CAD modeling experience required. (Solidworks experience preferred)
Must demonstrate strong computer programming skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Access, MATLAB, & Visual Basic
Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams
Must work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with emphasizes on strong computational & analytical skills
Ability to travel occasionally required
Ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance required
