Position Purpose:
Under minimal supervision, independently prepare, conduct, and evaluate analyses for planning improvements and problem solving for manufacturing issues (production methods and procedures) in a specific function (including layout, production flow, tooling and production equipment, material fabrication, assembly methods and planning) in a Production or Post-Production environment.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions: 1. Perform technical studies of a complex nature, conduct analysis of operations (existing or proposed). Prepare a report of recommendations for equipment needed and correct methods of manufacturing (including sequence of operations and detailed methodology of complex assemblies and installations as well as detail components). 2. Author detailed work instructions that optimize manufacturing process efficiency and opportunity for zero defects with functional Operations Engineer. 14. Author DRDI/DMT rework instructions to support effective corrective actions. 15. Author MBOM in SAP/Solumina/Corridor (as applicable) to ensure all parts defined by Engineering are installed during the assembly/installation process. 16. Assist in make-or-buy proposals and recommend corrective actions for areas of responsibility; evaluate vendors, attend vendor negotiations, and assist in resolving vendor problems. 3. Conduct research, investigation, and analysis in connection with assigned planning or other assigned projects, to ensure conformance to requirements. 4. Investigate and assist in preparing justification for equipment and facility requests. 5. Perform producibillity studies from engineering drawings to identify opportunities to enhance manufacturing ability to meet requirements. Participate in Design for Manufacturing assessments with Engineering. 6. Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential; make necessary computer inputs and generate data or reports as needed. 7. Perform audit of co-workers output based on defined requirements and procedures. Must demonstrate knowledge of ME policies and procedures. 8. Incorporate Lean Manufacturing Methodology into existing and future processes. 10. With minimal supervision, lead/coordinate the implementation of projects between multiple organizations. 11. Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to manufacturing methods as a team member or leader. 12. Support all Safety, Sustainability and Ergonomic Initiatives. 13. Aid in development and maintenance of Business Continuity Plan.

Additional Functions: 1. Ensure Quality policies are being practiced; make recommendations and implement procedures to improve quality. 2. Initiate and maintain accurate daily/weekly activity status based on work output, as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements: 1. Proven knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles. 2. Must be knowledgeable about Engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint reading, and shop math. 3. Ability to operate computerized equipment, such as personal computers, CADAM, CATIA, Solumina, SAP, Corridor. 4. Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification or higher preferred.

Detailed Job Description:

Five years (5) minimum airframe structural design experience utilizing sheet metal and machined parts and requiring only minimal design supervision.

Must be able to complete both assembly and mono-detail drawings quickly and accurately. Must be able to do 3D modeling and 2D drawings using CATIA V5 or V6.
Duties and Essential Functions:

Create detail, assembly, and installation CAD models in CATIA V6 and drawings for composite and metallic airframe structures and components.

Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) - Electrical Designer / CAD Drafter

Description:
The Electrical Designer/CAD Drafter position will have emphasis on Aerospace Electronics Circuits.

Activities will include:
• conceptual layout,
• detailed design, and
• engineering documentation of complex multi-layer analog, digital, mixed signal, RF, high speed, and high-power PCB layout designs.
• Interfacing with other engineering groups to insure design requirements are fulfilled.

The selected candidate will work as a member of the Electronic Systems Center, and will be part of design, development and momentum support on aerospace electronic solutions.

The position may involve direct interface with customers (internal and external) and suppliers in support of developing an understanding of the electrical design constraints. The position will work with cross functional teams to resolve issues. In addition, some travel to customer and supplier facilities may be required.

Responsibilities may include:
• Interpreting electrical design requirements and creating original board layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and illustrations
• Providing for compliance with items such as specifications, tolerances and safety factors when performing highly specialized electrical designs

Ejection Seat Test Engineer

PDS Tech is seeking an Ejection Seat Test Engineer in CO Springs, CO.
 
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our expanding Ejection Seat Design team located on the front range of the Rocky Mountains in beautiful Colorado.  The Ejection Seat Design team is a dream position for an Engineer wanting work with very challenging requirements, state of the art technologies, advanced materials, cartridges, rockets, computer-controlled devices, subsonic & supersonic aerodynamics, parachutes, aircrew equipment including advanced helmet mounted displays, and the appreciation for saving an aircrew life every few months.
 
The Ejection Seat Test Engineer will support the analysis and testing of ACES ejection seat components and subsystems.  The position will provide engineering deliverables through qualification testing and the initial production implementation.  The individual will propose new technology, create innovative design solutions, support design reviews, work directly with customers, drawing release/review and support testing of the product.




 
Responsibilities:
  • Test Leader for small & medium (<$500K/yr) projects or potentially be the Lead Test Engineer for a subsystem design effort for large ejection seat program project.
  • Successfully executes on test tasks required to develop and qualify aircraft ejection seats.
  • Utilize NX 8.5 CAD and Team Center Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software to evaluate 3D design models and to facilitate the drafting department in producing drawings

Summary
As part of a multicultural team, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and supporting testing of hardware for flight testing of aircraft. • Monitor boiler and turbine performance daily.
• Regular (weekly) facility performance review meetings with Ops Dept.

Boiler Reliability Engineering
Participating in boiler outage inspection services at the facility both during forced and scheduled outages.
• Assist in the preparation of outage planning defining inspection scope, schedule, costs and resource requirements.
• Preparation of Condition Assessment Reports with executive

summary.
• Inspection data compilation, analysis and presentation.
• Develop and revise standard specifications for outage work scopes.
Predictive Maintenance Program Technical Support
Providing engineering support to the facility Maintenance Supervisor for mechanical equipment predictive maintenance program.
Asset Improvement Project Engineering and management; providing engineering for asset improvement project development and execution.
• Coordinate with Regional Engineering Manager for resource support and design review when required.
• Develop work scopes, solicit bids and execute projects.

Technical Standards
Maintain the Covanta Technical Standards and Service Bulletins as required.
• Prepare exception requests of technical standards.
• Prepare Facility Change Notice (FCN) documents for facility changes or improvements. Coordinate engineering review process reviews of all facility FCN’s

Position Requirements
The position requires a degree in engineering and a minimum of 1-3 years of power plant or related industrial experience and a technical background in solid fuel boiler and steam turbines.

Description:
We have an outstanding Contract position for a Quality Assurance Inspector to join a leading Company located in Ann Arbor, MI.

The Quality Assurance Inspector I examines products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications.

Major Responsibilities:
Inspects purchased parts and materials for conformance to specifications. Examines items for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit, inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy fit, alignment and functional operation according to prints, parts manuals, company standards, and other specifications.
Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and physical tests; communicating required adjustments, issues or trends to the Quality Control Lead.
Approves finished goods by confirming specifications; conducting visual and physical tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
During the inspection process, the Inspector may engage in preassembly-preparatory work such as cleaning of the housing, removal of excess adhesives, degreasing nuts and screws, and the greasing of o-rings and seal rings.
During the visual inspection, the Inspector will look for any abnormalities such as dents, missing parts, and the general integrity of the product; the Inspector will also check for minor cosmetic issues such as scratches, nicks and switch operations.
Visually inspect the holographic image, glass components and housing by looking at the surface quality.
Physically inspect the holographic image, glass components and housing to assure every component falls within tolerance dictated by the product specifications and customer requirements.
During the inspection process, the holographic image, glass components and/or housing may require cleaning of smudges, removal of dust or debris and/or minor re-work.
Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database. When defects are found, Inspector notifies Quality Control Lead and helps analyze and correct production problems.
Perform image inspection by using VISIONx, a computer-based high-accuracy measurement system to inspect the holographic image for image brightness.
Pack, label and scan throughout in-process production.

Job Summary:
Cable/Harness Designer Senior level position in the Mechanical Subsystem Directorate, Mechanical Design Integrity Department. Assignments will be received in task and objective oriented terms. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal and external representatives. Foster effective communication between teams and team members.

Work is performed without appreciable direction either individually, in a team environment, or in a supervisory capacity to develop major wire harness and/or flex harness components or develop improvements to a product to facilitate manufacturing operations. Uses Computer Assisted Design (CAD) systems to prepare electro/mechanical design layouts, electrical diagrams, detail and assembly drawings and models, and related documentation in conformance to appropriate program and/or military specifications.

Responsible for identification & execution of the program requirements and ensuring the quality of Model Data Sets and associated Drawings are delivered with program cost and schedule constraints. Provide interpretation and implementation of ASME Y14 Standards and drafting standards. Support the definition of all drawings necessary to describe the product for full design disclosure in order to comply with the requirements for a Product Level Technical Data Package. Become actively involved in daily operations when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems. Collaborate with the engineering and program personnel on staffing requirements and subsequent assessment of individuals’ performances. Conduct timely employee performance development discussions and plans for employee’s growth.

Job Description:
SME with mechanical design experience that may include areas such as electrical/mechanical packaging, harnessing, cabling, electrical schematic/diagrams, structures, surfacing, and mechanisms.
• SME background in manufacturing methods/processes of harness design such as IPC-620
• SME user of CREO or Pro/Engineer Cabling Module, Pro/Diagram, CREO Schematic, and Sheet Metal Module.
• Candidate must have complete understanding of basic principles, theories and concepts for creation and preparation of engineering design documentation.
• Candidate must have a full knowledge of industry practices and standards used in drafting, modeling and design development/revision.
• Candidate must be able to identify and correct design, model, or drawing errors/omissions/deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
• Technical knowledge sufficient to perform complex tasks such as preparation of all types of detail drawings, large assemblies, castings or other performs, interface drawings, various layouts for design concepts, and many other high level tasks.
• Technical knowledge using documentation specifications such as MIL-STD-31000, ASME Y14.5M, ASME Y14.24 and ASME Y14.100.
• Must have the ability to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Expert user of CREO or Pro/Engineer solid modeling tool and considerable knowledge of Windchill PDM.
• Effective oral and written communication skills / good communicator
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently
• Self starter
• Demonstrate leadership skills

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Test Engineer for an opening in Mojave, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Experienced test engineer specialist to support testing of mechanical systems and avionics components, assemblies, and integrated systems. The main tasks of this role are to define test requirements with internal customers, write test plans, design test stands and execute tests under the direction of the Engineering lead and/or Manager. Engineers in this position are expected to have knowledge of industry standard test practices and methods as well as engineering skills in design and analysis to required to develop custom tests.
" Design tests plans and equipment for validation of complex mechanical or structural components and systems.
" Write test plans and procedures to define and support execution of tests.
" Interface with internal customers on integrated program teams to establish and verify specific test requirements.
" Work with support teams and vendors to procure, manufacture and assemble test articles and test stand hardware and equipment.
" Analyze test data to verify test requirements and write test reports to document test results.
" Interface with external test laboratories to facilitate testing for Client design and analysis teams.
" Participate in the test engineering review, approval and release process.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
" 4-8 years' or more experience in aerospace with an emphasis on testing or equivalent laboratory test engineering experience
" CAD modelling experience - Experience with Catia V5 preferred
" Experience with simulation and finite element analysis preferred - NASTRAN, Femap
" Experience with DO-160 environmental test standards for mechanical systems
" Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA are highly desired
