General Summary:

The Aircraft Stress Engineer assists with the planning, coordination, performance of design, analysis and liaison engineering supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Contributes to planning, developing and coordinating of important engineering projects.
Provides specialized technical assistance to team members.
Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
Works under limited supervision; work should only be required. to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives.
Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area.
Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Five (5) ys in specific technical discipline or 10 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
Static and fatigue analysis of primary and secondary airframe structure of metallic construction experience.
Strong background in classical stress analysis.
Experience with Catia V5 to support stress analysis and drawing release.
Experience with reviewing 2D drawings.
Skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to work independently under limited supervision.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with aircraft modifications and repairs (STC, MRB, or Service) preferred.
Static analysis of composite structure, preferably with experience using GAC analysis methods
Composite allowable testing and certification requirements.
Experience with Patran/Nastran is a plus.
Strong preference for engineers that enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.

Description:
Facility Systems Electrical Engineer - Member of the Engineering and Infrastructure department whose responsibilities include the design, operation and maintenance of ground (fixed and portable) electrical power systems used at all client Sites.

- Support development activities for new upcoming launch systems, customer funded special studies, mission unique modifications, or other major facility modifications and/or system upgrades
- Disposition of corrective actions and coordination with cross-functional groups to identify/implement solutions and drive strategic improvements relative to launch operations
- Apply technical engineering knowledge and expertise in the completion of all aspects of an identified project including technological considerations, cost/financial considerations, administration and schedule management
- Develop and coordinate technical portions of proposals, statements of work and contract specifications. Apply knowledge of regulatory and certifying agency requirements to ensure product and/or service is in compliance. Apply knowledge of functional testing requirements to ensure product and/or service meets or exceeds customer expectations
- Must understand and comply with (EWR 127-1) Range Safety design and operational requirements in performance of duties
- Support maintenance and improvement projects in close coordination with Operation Systems Engineering group to ensure system readiness in support of launch vehicle processing

External Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required (Electrical Engineering degree is preferred), will consider Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Degree with equivalent real-world work experience.
- AT LEAST 2 years of experience working electrical/power engineering in an Aerospace, Utilities, or similarly complex environment. A Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering may be used to satisfy 2 years of experience.
- Excellent communication, writing and oral skills and have the ability to work with a wide range of team members including customers and subcontractors
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, Power Point and Project
- Experience with Computer Aided Design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Tekla
- Work will primarily be in an office type environment, with some field operations and maintenance support (launch pad and processing facilities) involving certification for working at height, working in confined space, and working in areas of stored hazardous rocket propellant commodities and high pressure gases.

External Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience working with large, complex mechanical systems in an equivalent industrial process is preferred

Sr. Structural Analyst

Seeking a leader to take ownership of structural analysis of several key projects. This role requires the candidate to thrive in a high paced environment and will have an integral role in advancing the next generation of electrically powered vertical lift aircraft.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Define: Develop structural analysis methodologies that are aligned with industry best-practices and compliance with FAR civil certification standards. Define coupon test programs to establish material allowables and be highly versed in aerospace sizing methods and fatigue methodology.
Lead: Oversee the structural analysis capabilities of a small team and help empower new engineers with best in-class analysis techniques.
Do: This job will be a mix of developing the in-house analysis capabilities of the company, as well as performing as an individual contributor. The senior structural analysis will also take the lead analyzing a myriad of critical components and primary structure. This includes both metallics and composites. Areas of focus include blades, propeller systems and blade retention components, transmissions, gears, bearings, actuators, motors/shafts, and other critically important, dynamically loaded structural components. The work outputs will include structural substantiation packages written to a high level of expertise as well as documentation of flight test limits for the analyzed components. This job may also require the senior structural analysis to support development test efforts (both ground and flight testing).
Intrinsic: The role will require constant flexibility and a level of comfort working in a rapid-prototype environment. The projects and assignments will vary from week to week, so the candidate should ideally have robust experiences to draw from (e.g. aerospace development programs, Motorsport/Formula One) in order to operate effectively in this environment. The role will include interfacing with engineering management, our customers, certification authorities, operations, procurement, external suppliers, and fellow design engineers.

Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree from an accredited university in a related discipline with at least 5 years of professional experience in aerospace or a related field (i.e. formula one) or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Excellent analysis skills and a track record of demonstrated success analyzing actual products.
• Highly experienced in finite element analytical tools such as Hyper-Mesh pre-processors integrated with Nastran solvers (preferred), ANSYS or similar.
• Well versed in 3D CAD and model setup using 3DExperience (preferred), CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks or similar.
• Knowledge of fatigue analysis of critical structures using various substantiation methodologies (safe-life, flaw tolerant safe-life, damage tolerance among others) through the full-lifecycle. This includes developing and enforcing component strength limits in order to ensure the structural integrity of the component is maintained through the test and evaluation stages of the program.
• Experience supporting ground and flight testing of complex systems.
• Versed in gear and bearing design, and analysis of these components using tools such as Calyx and Romax. Experience designing and analyzing common housing features such as lugs and bolted joints.
• In addition to structural work, thermal, fluid, and dynamic analysis may be called for.
• The job entails using finite element software and classical analysis to help size dynamic components and select material specifications, along with leading efforts to solve technical problems and providing mentoring or oversight to others.
