Safety Engineer - Level 1

Location: Marinette, WI
Rate: $26.00/HR
6 month contract
1st Shift

**CANDIDATE MUST HAVE SHIP BUILDING OR SHIP YARD REPAIR EXPERIENCE IN A SAFETY POSITION**

Description
The successful candidate will:
1. Independently review and enforce Hull, Mechanical, Electrical and Mission Systems equipment care and protection standards to be utilized from equipment delivery across hulls in production through ships delivery.
2. Provide input to the preventative maintenance team for accountability of care and protection standards.
3. Provide deck plate support to the onsite Company Production Team.
4. Assist in the monitoring of HM&E and Mission Systems equipment.
5. Assist the onsite Company Production Team in documenting Care and Protection Deficiencies.
6. Provide Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Outlook reports to the LM Production Team, Onsite Management, and Senior Management.

Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory:
**CANDIDATE MUST HAVE SHIP BUILDING OR SHIP YARD REPAIR EXPERIENCE IN A SAFETY POSITION**
- Ability to write reports clearly and prepare PowerPoint presentations required.
- Working knowledge of safety procedures in shipbuilding.
- Working knowledge shipboard mechanical/electrical systems.
- Attention to detail.
- No physical limitations as this position will be required to inspect ongoing work throughout the ship including confined spaces.

Desired:
- Proven engineering skills of ship’s equipment and systems.
- Strong working knowledge shipboard Hull, Mechanical, Electrical and Mission Systems equipment.
- HM&E/Mission Systems work history.
- Working knowledge of logistics.
- Working knowledge of shipyard safety standards.
