Job Description / Task / Responsibilities:
Planning, executing and issuing reports for Spirent simulations specific to ULA implementation of launch vehicle GPS blended navigation. This includes authoring test procedures, running the tests on the Spirent system, consulting with the appropriate ULA CREs when necessary, and documenting test results.

Top 3 Skills Required:
Knowledge of GPS and INU (Inertial Navigation Unit) systems in high dynamic applications such as launch vehicles or other equivalent aerospace systems
Ability to conduct Spirent simulations
Ability to operate independently in a lab environment with a proficiency working with test equipment
Experience using a 1553 bus analyzer

Top 3 Skills Preferred:
Familiarity with generating ULA procedure and reports
Knowledge of ULA ADMS Telemetry System
Experience using the Excalibur 1553 bus analyzer or equivalent

Systems Used:
Spirent, ULA ADMS Telemetry System, Excalibur 1553 bus analyzer

Number of years of experience:
5 years experience with GPS and INU systems in high dynamic applications
1 year experience with running simulations on Spirent

Education Requirements:
BSEE or equivalent degree, although if someone already has all the experience/skills/knowledge listed above, we would consider that as an acceptable substitute

Additional note:
The candidate must have experience with launch vehicles / missile GPS navigation. Automotive background not applicable for this role. Degree is great but not a showstopper. The 1553 communication protocol is mandatory; ULA uses Excalibur but any other similar tools are OK. The manager is more interested in someone who understands the communication protocols and can look at messages and troubleshoot where/if needed independently but also engage ULA SME to weigh in as applicable; someone who is familiar with working in a lab environment. Experience with high dynamic applications is a must.
