Stress Engineer

Description:
Seeking an Airframe Stress Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of structural integrity and implementing long-term roadmap on stress methods development. This position will initially be located in our Reno, NV, headquarters and report directly to the Structures Manager.

Qualifications:
• Build and Lead team developing stress analysis methods and tools for AS2 aircraft design and certification.
• Thorough understanding of latest structural static, durability and damage tolerance requirements for Part 25 certification.
• Develop roadmap for structures team - in partnership with Tier 1 supplies and Partners – in the areas of analysis methods, tools and failure criterions for the entire aircraft.
• Support IPT leads in development of the PSP, PSCP, issue papers, and other certification documents.
• Knowledge of the conceptual and preliminary design phases of aircraft development is strongly preferred
• Provide input to maintenance program, inspection intervals and inspection methodologies.
• Support new business development, trade studies and proposal activities.
• Support design reviews with IPT teams and partners/suppliers.

Requirements:
• Must be either a US citizen, a US permanent resident (a “US Person”) or a Canadian citizen.
• Cannot be party of any restrictive covenant, non-compete, non-solicitation, or non-disclosure / confidentiality agreement with current or any former employer that would prevent you from fully performing the duties of the position.
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Master’s Degree strongly preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in performing stress analysis, developing methods and performing validation testing for Part 25 aircraft components.
• 3+ years of experience in leading stress and/or structural integrity team.
• You must have demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Demonstrated success in dealing and influencing internal and external stakeholders
• Strategic thinker with very strong decision making and communication skills.
• Highly self-motivated with a strong bias for action, and excellent problem-solving skills across multi-disciplinary skill sets.
