Airframe Process Engineer

Description:
The Airframe Process Engineer is required for 2nd, or possible split shift (late 1st to 2nd, flexible hours) to complete tasks as related to AeroStructures in Support of Black Hawk Major Assembly build, tooling, liaison, and planning.

The candidate’s responsibilities will include supporting a Process Engineer Lead assigned to existing Black Hawk programs.

Primary responsibilities include Manufacturing Engineering support of Black Hawk build and designs by providing producibility review, work instruction planning, developing tooling and manufacturing plans, and manufacturing implementation and support of airframe installation and modifications.

Also, the candidate must review, sign off, create, and implement PCAS for EC changes, issue SAP notifications to create new tooling, and perform process validations.

The candidate must pro-actively coordinate with Design Engineering and other disciplines and actively engage in continuous quality improvement through the use of other ACE tools.

The candidate must be flexible and highly motivated with a proven technical ability and business judgment with the ability to work on multiple programs. There is a potential for overtime between 5 and 10 hours dependent upon Operations scheduling and applicants experience.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering / related field, or in lieu of a degree 6+ years of experience in Manufacturing and Engineering industry will be considered.
• 4+ years Knowledge of NC programming and machining methods.
• 4+ years of experience with CAD software, NX Unigraphics preferred.
• U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Training Preferred.
• Aerospace environment preferred.

In this role, you will design manufacturing tooling for the production of solid fuel rocket motors and warheads. Develops jigs, fixtures, lifting devices, and semi-automated equipment to cast and assemble the final product.

Our clients two main software systems are Unigraphics NX and PTC Creo (also called Pro-Engineer). NX is our legacy system and Creo is what they are moving to as a company, so the best candidates will be those that have experience in one of these packages.

Working under limited general direction:

Job Description:
This position is for an Airframe Dynamics Analysis Team with Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works® Advanced Development Programs. The candidate will be expected to use their technical expertise to develop dynamics analysis methods and perform analysis of aircraft structures. The candidate will have knowledge in the field of aircraft dynamics structural analysis and have a broad knowledge of all related disciplines in structural analysis. The candidate will work under some supervision from senior engineers and will be expected to coordinate with other teams within the program.

• Structural dynamics/vibro-acoustics analysis experience
• Structural analysis hand calculation methods
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• ADAMS modeling and simulation

Description:
Experience:
• Must have system level engineering experience on engine installations. Turbo Prop install experience is preferable, but not mandatory.
• Must have a BS degree (BSAE, BSME)
• System testing required for PDR.
• Experience with layout and detail design of engine installation into aircraft for PDR.
• Spec out system parts.
• Coordinate/support manufacturing
• Select and manage suppliers
• Some experience with CAD software like Catia V5, UG NX, etc.
• Experience doing thermal analysis of engine installations.
• US Citizen highly preferred. Greencard could work, but much more difficult to place on program.

Sr. Tool Design Engineer

Description:
• Perform all engineering activities related to the design and construction of new tools and modification of existing tools for aerospace composites manufacturing.
• Responsible for working with personnel throughout the company to help resolve any engineering related tooling issues that may impact the manufacturing delivery schedule.
• Document findings, communicate results, make technical presentations, and may represent the organization as the prime technical contact on tooling related projects.
• Investigate manufacturing problems and recommend corrective action.
• Develop and maintains Tool Design and Drawing Standards.
• Study specifications and confer with engineering and shop personnel to resolve design problems related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures, and cost of tools.
• Prepare models, drawings, engineering changes, and specifications.
• Facilitate project updates to management, and engage frequently with engineers.
• Interface daily with many departments at various technical and management levels.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline plus 5 years on the job experience.
