Thermal Analysis Engineer

Description:
Job Description:
The Thermal Analysis Engineer is responsible for evaluating the thermal properties and cooling performance of multiple air vehicle systems, including hydraulics, engine, avionics, electrical, and drive systems, as required to meet program and customer defined requirements.

Positioning Responsibilities:
Perform thermal analyses of A/C systems to evaluate cooling requirements.

Perform sub-system component and air vehicle level thermal analyses to meet systems level requirements.
Provide technical guidance to design engineers and program management in support of decisions affecting thermal analyses.
Work closely with IPTs by reviewing evolving designs and providing input into their decisions, to support overall air vehicle level performance.
Perform system level and aircraft level analysis to validate performance requirements.

Position Requirements:

* 7+ years experience in analyzing thermal performance of aircraft systems, including hydraulics, engine bay cooling, oil cooling, inlet/exhaust sizing.

* Experience performing thermal analysis using SINDA, or equivalent.

* Experience performing CFD analyses on turbo-machinery using FLUENT, or equivalent is a plus.

* Must have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to coordinate and lead activities, prioritize tasks, and report status.

* Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams.

* Familiarity with aerospace design and verification processes to include; requirements develop and verification, preliminary and detailed design, MRP, Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement and Maintenance processes is preferred.

* PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.

* Must have the ability to work effectively within a team.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
