Aerospace Mechanic

Description:
Mechanic

Location: Stennis Space Center, Mississippi
Rate: DOE
Duration: One Year Contract

**Must be a U.S. Citizen**

Duties:
-Perform hands-on servicing and assembly of rocket engines and related test facility and support equipment at a customer or company facility.
-Servicing and assembly includes performing maintenance and repairs; replacing line Replaceable Units(LRUs) ; conducting product testing diagnostics, overhauling hardware, and integrating product with ground systems, payloads or flight/launch vehicles.
-Use experience to independently perform work at multiple locations.
-Locate and correct malfunctions or discrepancies in development/flight hardware and associated ground support equipment.
-Interpret data and assist engineering in diagnosing non-conformances.

Skills:
-An in-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, various measuring and testing devices, and experience with hand tools is essential.
-Possess the ability to understand and interpret required engineering drawings, instructions, and technical manuals.
-Aerospace background with a minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred
-A&P license or military equivalent proficiency test preferred

Education:
Requires an Associate's degree in a related discipline and 1-2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
