Electrical Engineer - Rail/ Locomotive

Description:
Title: Electrical Engineer

This position provides support to engineering team to meet project deliverables in the completion of development / qualification testing.
Project deliverables may include producing and/or reviewing verification and/or validation plans, test procedures, and reports; execution of the plans and test procedures; identifying and tracking deviations and resolution of deviations; producing and maintaining requirements traceability matrices. Products being developed are primarily microprocessor based embedded systems comprised of software, electronics hardware, and mechanical enclosures / packaging.

Responsibilities:

Works closely with all engineering disciplines including Systems Engineering, Project Management, and Quality personnel to validate real-time, safety critical, embedded hardware and software products
Define and develop test systems in the lab. Ensure that all test systems and equipment are appropriately validated and controlled.
Work with project teams to create, review, and approve system validation deliverables (test plans, test procedures, traceability matrices, etc.)
Perform validation testing.
Review and analyze test data and record pass/fail results and conclusions
Track and report on progress toward completion of validation
Summarize the validation performed, the data reviewed, and conclusions reached
Author and review testability requirements using DOORs


Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification may be required in some areas.
5-10 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key
Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.


Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

Experience in the design of car carried safety critical embedded systems in the passenger rail / transit industry
