Design Modeling and Compliance Representative

Description:
Location: Centennial, CO
Duration: 12 month contract
Pay Rate: DOE
Overtime: Exempt
Per Diem Split: Yes (if eligible)

Job Description:
- Provide engineering/drafting support in the Payload Accommodations group for new and existing structural/mechanical designs and layout development.
- Provide mark-up incorporation, model checking, drawing/drafting checking, dimensional and tolerance verification and approval functions using established department tools, guidelines and checklists as well as the application of appropriate process and material standards.
- Follow all set quality standards, engineering principles and best practices.
- Work collaboratively with Payload Accommodation engineers as well as representatives from other engineering disciplines to understand and implement design intent.
- Coordinate engineering document preparation and release with suppliers, internal/external manufacturing and launch site teams, as required.
- Develop design improvements that reduce cost, risk and/or improve system performance.
- Utilize Siemens NX 8 Design Parametric and Direct Solid/Surface Modeling CAD/CAM/CAE software and PTC CREO 4.0 Parametric 3D Modeling Software CAD systems to create or complete designs or mark-ups per internal requirements and established industry standards.
- Utilize Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software to manage engineering documentation and configuration management requirements.

Skill Qualifications Required:
- Position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or ten (10) years of Mechanical design experience in the aerospace engineering field.
- Proficiency with Siemens NX 8 Design Parametric and Direct Solid/Surface Modeling CAD/CAM/CAE software and PTC CREO 4.0 Parametric 3D Modeling Software CAD systems to create or complete model-based designs per internal requirements and established industry standards.
- Proficiency with Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software to manage engineering documentation and configuration management requirements.
- Strong knowledge of / proficiency with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Standards.
- Position requires a general knowledge of aerospace design as well as an understanding of dynamics and structural analysis concepts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).
- Applicant must be a team player with the ability to adapt within a dynamic work environment, be goal-oriented with an acute attention to detail and be willing to work extended hours, off shifts, and weekends.
