Job Summary:
The Aircraft Mechanic I (Electrical)troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. This worker reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. This mechanic performs 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections, examines reciprocating engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks, and listens to operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions, such as sticking or burnt valves, inspects jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments. Inspects jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester, to locate source of malfunction. Work involves: replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft. Job duties require that this mechanic: adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. This incumbent supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, may service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, may specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and may specialize in engine repair. Qualifications and Education Requirements
Applicant must have H-60 experience. H-47 experience is also welcome.
-Applicant must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
-Applicant must have experience installing and testing of electrical/avionic systems. Experience in wiring schematics and wire running of Aircraft a plus.
-Applicant must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers.
This job requires working knowledge of technical publications. Desired Applicant must have experience and ability to operate or perform one or more of the following:

Must be a qualified aviation sheet metal mechanic, employee must have experience in aviation sheet metal, hardware installation such as rivet installation, HI-Loc installation, etc. Candidate must have fabrication to facilitate plane side repairs.

- Must be able to work shift schedules during this duration as required by program schedule and customer requirements.

This position provides support to the Air Force’s Life Cycle Management Center’s (AFLCMC) Technical Engineering Services Directorate (AFLCMC/EZ) in conducting an analysis of the known Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) and cyber risks associated with positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) avionics onboard USAF aircraft. The engineer will contribute to AFLCMC/EZ’s effort to analyze NAVWAR and cyber risk associated with PNT subsystems for USAF aircraft. The engineer will work daily with Government employee PNT technical experts and cyber risk assessment specialists. The engineer will frequently be called on by the AFLCMC/EZ Government customer to facilitate technical meetings and support the development of cyber and NAVWAR risk assessment briefings.
Responsible for collaborating with Government employees to conduct NAVWAR and cyber risk analyses for PNT avionics subsystems. The engineer will facilitate risk analysis activities both within AFLCMC/EZ and in outreach activities with USAF aircraft System Program Offices (SPOs) and technical centers of excellence across DoD. Responsible for the day-to-day execution of NAVWAR and cyber risk analysis and reporting activities under the oversight of AFLCMC/EZ Government employees. Facilitates the planning and execution of technical interchanges associated with avionics cyber risk analyses.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
5 years of military or commercial avionics experience
5 years of experience as a DoD employee or contractor
Excellent planning and organizational skills, both in terms of task execution tracking and task planning
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

ROLE SUMMARY

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify trends and best practices in the contractor safety area and implement new site programs for trade contractors as appropriate. This includes defining metrics to evaluate contractor's performance.

  • Successfully uses recognized system analysis tools to perform risk assessments, investigations, program auditing that result in identifying value-added improvements. Identify trends that have the potential to create harm to people, work, environments or communities.

  • Conducts and documents project level incident investigations; documenting root causes contributing to an incident and corrective actions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Description:
General Summary:
The Avionics System Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of the assigned avionics systems for the aircraft.


Duties and Responsibilities:
• Define, plan, and develop complex systems level requirements to support the avionic systems.
• Perform systems level integration activities for aircraft avionic systems including: Control and Display Systems; Navigations Systems; Communication Systems; Surveillance Systems; and Cabin Management Systems

Position Responsibilities:

The Thermal Analysis Engineer is responsible for evaluating the thermal properties and cooling performance of multiple air vehicle systems, including hydraulics, engine, avionics, electrical (including battery), and drive systems, as required to meet program and customer defined requirements.

Specific position responsibilities:

Perform thermal analyses of A/C systems to evaluate cooling requirements.
Perform sub-system component and air vehicle level thermal analyses to meet systems level requirements.
Provide technical guidance to design engineers and program management in support of decisions affecting thermal analyses.

Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE):

Ensure certification objectives and provide means of compliance on regulation on behalf of Airbus product integrity which fulfill airworthiness requirements at Modification and Service Bulletin level
Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering Electrical, aeronautical, mechanical
Minimum 5 years of engineering work experience within the aviation industry.
Good knowledge in project management preferred

Required:
