Description:
Cable/Harness Designer Senior level position in the Mechanical Subsystem Directorate, Mechanical Design Integrity Department.

Assignments will be received in task and objective oriented terms.

Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal and external representatives.

Foster effective communication between teams and team members.

Work is performed without appreciable direction either individually, in a team environment, or in a supervisory capacity to develop major wire harness and/or flex harness components or develop improvements to a product to facilitate manufacturing operations.

Uses Computer Assisted Design (CAD) systems to prepare electro/mechanical design layouts, electrical diagrams, detail and assembly drawings and models, and related documentation in conformance to appropriate program and/or military specifications.

Responsible for identification & execution of the program requirements and ensuring the quality of Model Data Sets and associated Drawings are delivered with program cost and schedule constraints.

Provide interpretation and implementation of ASME Y14 Standards and drafting standards.

Support the definition of all drawings necessary to describe the product for full design disclosure in order to comply with the requirements for a Product Level Technical Data Package.

Become actively involved in daily operations when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems.

Collaborate with the engineering and program personnel on staffing requirements and subsequent assessment of individuals performances.

Conduct timely employee performance development discussions and plans for employees growth.



Required Skills:
5 years or more of Cable routing experience with a combination of Pro-Engineer/CREO Cable Module, Pro-Diagram, CREO Schematic or RSD

SME with mechanical design experience that may include areas such as electrical/mechanical packaging, harnessing, cabling, electrical schematic/diagrams, structures, surfacing, and mechanisms.

SME background in manufacturing methods/processes of harness design such as IPC-620

SME user of CREO or Pro/Engineer Cabling Module, Pro/Diagram, CREO Schematic, and Sheet Metal Module.

Candidate must have complete understanding of basic principles, theories and concepts for creation and preparation of engineering design documentation.

Candidate must have a full knowledge of industry practices and standards used in drafting, modeling and design development/revision.

Candidate must be able to identify and correct design, model, or drawing errors/omissions/deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or improvements.

Technical knowledge sufficient to perform complex tasks such as preparation of all types of detail drawings, large assemblies, castings or other performs, interface drawings, various layouts for design concepts, and many other high level tasks.

Northrop Grumman’s Aerospace Sector, Military & Civil Space Systems Division, Azusa CA, is in need of an Embedded Software Engineer to work with an outstanding team in support of next generation satellite sensors.

The candidate will be required to perform software development and maintenance of flight software which performs satellite payload on-orbit missions. The candidate will troubleshoot any anomalies found with the flight software, and provide technical expertise on key technological problems involving the flight software. Good presentation and writing skills are also essential.


Basic Qualifications:

- 14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD.Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with embedded software design, development and implementation
- Experience with Real Time Process (RTP) using VxWorks
- Experience with writing hardware device drivers for embedded software applications
- Strong real-time programming skills with C or C++ programming languages
- U.S. Citizenship is required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
