Aerospace Engineer - Electrical Systems

Description:
Currently looking for an experienced Aerospace Engineer - Electrical Systems to fill an opening with a company located in Moses Lake, WA. Interested candidates should have aerospace engineering experience in Electrical Systems, including experience in the electrical aspects of the various systems and components and/or controllers on the airplane (e.g. ECS, Fuel, hydraulics, engines, fire protections, anti-ice, lights, electrical power, writing, etc.).



Responsibilities of the Aerospace Engineer - Electrical Systems



Review and support Certification Activities.
Create and review Certification Plans.
Create and review Component Qualification Test Plans, Qualification Test Procedures and Qualification Test Plans.
Review qualification by similarity and/or analysis reports.
Review system safety documents (PSSA, SFHA, ADHA, SSA and Particular Risk Analysis).
Create, review and approve ground test procedures, flight test procedures and their corresponding test reports.
Perform Component Drawing Reviews.
Complete aircraft assembly and installation drawing reviews.
Participate in System Design Reviews.
Coordinate with suppliers.
Coordinate with certification authorities.
Review certification guidance material (advisory circulars, etc.) and incorporate the necessary guidance into the certification plans.
Discuss, write and review test plans and preparation activities with the flight test team.
Help prepare and review pre and post-flight briefing.
Monitor live flight data, typically via telemetry, during flight test on aircraft.
Process, analyze, and draw conclusions from post flight data. Identify non-conformances, quality escapes, etc. to crate rejection tags.
Make assessments to ensure safety of flight determination.


Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Avionics, Electrical, or Instrumentation). Other Engineering fields may be considered.
Aerospace engineering experience in Electrical Systems, including experience in the electrical aspects of the various systems and components and/or controllers on the airplane (e.g. ECS, Fuel, hydraulics, engines, fire protections, anti-ice, lights, electrical power, writing, etc.).
Knowledge of flight test operations and flight certification, including knowledge of electrical aspects of the various systems and components and/or controllers on the airplane.
Good leadership presence as well as people management skills
Strong proficiency in writing summaries, documents, reports, and presentations.
Good project management skills, including the ability to take ownership for accomplishing assigned tasks.
Comfortable and effective working in Microsoft Office. Intermediate Excel proficiency required.
Proven track record of improving the efficiency of assigned processes or procedures.

Job Summary:
This position in provides support to our Manufacturing floor. The individual will mostly provide preparation support for Paint, but may also provide support in the Mechanical, Electrical or Air Vehicle Factory performing basic tasks, such as hand work, deburring, stenciling, Machine operation, cleaning, organizing, wiring and assembly.

Job Duties:

The Utility Person may provide support to other areas of the shop floor
The support includes, assembling details and sub-assemblies, assisting experienced mechanics with operating equipment, material sizing and ply design layout of composite parts and bond assemblies, and set up and fabricate electronics assemblies utilizing various forms of written and oral instructions, automatic and semi-automatic machines and hand tools
The incumbent may also move material by hand, truck or conveyor within assigned storage area
Qualifications:

Paint or Body Shop experience is a plus
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work from verbal and written instructions
Ability to operate material handling equipment
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment

Description:
Position Purpose:
Guides successful completion of major engineering programs, or conceives research in areas of considerable scope and complexity supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services.

Unique Skills:

Operations are run 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

Description:

The Instrument Engineer is responsible for the design, engineering, and implementation of process instrumentation and control systems from initial conception through commissioning. The Instrument Engineer is responsible for design and engineering that provide the most reliable and cost- effective instrument and control systems. The Instrument Engineer also provides consulting services to process engineers in developing process design specifications, develops operating and training manuals for mechanical and process personnel, and participates in training operating personnel. The Instrument Engineer writes purchase and construction specifications and writes and performs Factory Acceptance Tests procedures. The Instrument Engineer specifies, procures, and configures Distributed Control Systems, and field hardware such as transmitters, control valves, and electronic transmission systems.

 

The Instrument Engineer utilizes American Petroleum Institute (API) Standards, Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society (ISA) Standards, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and ConocoPhillips standards and practices to perform the above functions..

General Summary:
The Avionics System Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of the assigned avionics systems for the aircraft.

Job Summary:
Electrical Engineer I with education and experience in performing test and troubleshooting to the component level utilizing schematics and test equipment.

Responsibilities include working with a team of engineers performing electrical tests and troubleshooting on sub-assemblies, assemblies, and systems for conformance to specifications; Understanding and applying the theory of operation for the unit under test to enable determination of faulty product for design, workmanship, environmental and/or component defects. Additionally, the candidate will work on systems validation, test and analysis while working through all phases of integration, test and validation activities within the Labs. As an Electrical Engineer I the candidate will ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques.

Responsibilities may contain aspects of one or more of the following disciplines:

• Signal processing - analysis and manipulation of signals. Signals can be either analog or digital.
• Communications - transmission of information across a channel such as a co-axial cable, optical fiber or free space.
• Electromagnetics - includes Electromagnetic waves, Transmission Lines and Waveguides, Antennas, Radio-Frequency (RF) and Microwaves.
• Controls - flight and propulsion systems.
• Power - generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity as well as the design of related devices. These include transformers, electric generators, electric motors, high voltage engineering, and power electronics.



Required Skills:
• A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience.
• Experience in reading, understanding and accurately following prints, schematics, sketches, as well as work from verbal and/or written instructions including test procedures.
• Experience with the design, fabrication and testing of electronic and mechanical sub-systems and CCAs.
• Proven interaction in a team environment
• Must be a self-starter and possess ability to work autonomously while establishing schedule and priorities
• Must have effective communication skills to interface with a wide variety of people including lab technicians, engineers, managers, and auditors
• Ability to clearly document findings encountered during testing and troubleshooting. Microsoft Office tools i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint


Desired Skills:
• Experience in missile defense systems is highly desired
• Able to manage and execute to Program Plan
• Ability to make and/or manage technical decisions for the product
• Experience performing engineering tests such as ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure), DVT (Design Verification Test), and DMV (Design Margin Verification)
• Knowledge of programmable electronic parts
• Proven communication and presentations skills with ability to clearly present technical approaches and findings
• Manage and balance the priorities of multiple programs simultaneously

Wire Design & Installation Engineer()

Description:
Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.
Analyzes results and performs design reviews. Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).
Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
Develops basic statements of work.
Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design. Works under general direction.
Wire harness design, electrical load analysis, research alternate parts and specifications to solve obsolescence issues, disposition non-conformances of fielded aircraft hardware or discrepant hardware from suppliers, research wire list electrical database, etc.
