Job Description

Instrumentation Lab Technician (Aerospace Rotorcraft)

You Will :

• Report to the onsite Engineering Manager
• The Instrumentation Laboratory Technician is responsible for setting up, operation and maintenance of specialized instrumentation data acquisition systems.
• This includes the use of simple electronics equipment including ohmmeter and voltmeter. This includes wiring and soldering connections.
• He/she must possess technical skills for troubleshooting, maintenance and limited repair of low power DC circuits.
• Work on both metallic and Composite parts/ assemblies to fix strain gages and wiring for data collection
• There may be travel requirements for off-site testing which can last up to 8 weeks at a time. Also, candidate should
• Can work second shift if necessary.

You Will Need:
• Ability to solder and build cables, with knowledge of various connector types.
• Very good knowledge of strain gages, fixing them on surfaces such as Composite structures, metallic structures and pipes etc.
• Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment with customers and other disciplines
• Proficient to read and understand wiring diagrams for small project assembly
• Able to read and understand mechanical drawings
• Microsoft software suite applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Good communication skills – oral and written.
• Physical strength -ability to lift up to 75 lbs , climb and work for extend periods in confined areas

Description:
Displays knowledge of Electrical Theory and usage of NEC and NFPA 79 in the assembly of machines with AC and DC circuits. Diagnoses malfunctioning electrical components using test equipment, computer, and engineering drawings. Test runs machines to ensure proper operation of components such as photo-eyes, limit switches and solenoid valves.  Tests for proper sequencing of machine operations. Assists R & D technicians and engineering in developing new equipment.
Sets up and operates a variety of hand tools such as drill press, saws, shear and break.  Operates tow motor, pallet jack, hoist, pipe bender, pipe threader, and overhead crane to aid in the safe handling of raw materials and fabricated parts.
Uses business system to enter time spent working on assemblies/sub-assemblies and to complete operations.

Completes final inspection checklist and inspects equipment for quality. Assists Technical Service with in house testing and field installation of machinery.
Coordinates with engineering to ensure Engineering Change Requests are submitted.
Ensures that Engineering Change Orders are processed and assembled.
Responsible to meet ISO quality standards which require individuals to take responsibility for their own quality, verify their work is correct and then affix their signature to the appropriate documentation (i.e., drawing, checklist, etc.).
Assists other departments to optimize throughput.

Electronic Test Technician

Description:
PDS Tech is currently recruiting for Electronic Test Technicians as well as various other positions in Hollister, CA.  

The Technician conducts complex destructive and non-destructive testing in accordance with written procedures such as Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) or Qualification Test Procedures (QTPs).   This position also requires the ability to interpret dimensional drawings and perform test setups. 

  • Responsible for design verification and acceptance testing of pyrotechnic and electronic products.

  • Reviews system-level Acceptance Test Procedures for a wide variety of pyrotechnic and electrical devices.

  • Use small hand and power tools along with various measuring and testing devices.
  • Perform appropriate duties associated with specialized IT project-based activities.
  • Participate in process improvement meetings and team 5S activities.

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Test Technician preferably in an Aerospace and/or Defense environment preferred

Equipment Services Technician

PDS Tech is seeking candidates to fill an Equipment Maintenance Tech position in Pleasanton, CA

The candidate will be performing preventive maintenance, repairs, moves, upgrades on a large variety of robotic equipment used in the Biotech industry. The candidate will perform their activities by following SOPs, and will receive in-house training. The equipment includes but is not limited to DNA/RNA Synthesizers, liquid handling robots, vacuum pumps, centrifuges, condensers, HPLC systems. Most of the equipment handles hazardous chemicals, so the candidate must be willing to work with/handle hazardous chemicals as well as hazardous waste.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration and repair on a variety of manufacturing and testing Instrumentation.
  • Carries out routine repairs on a daily basis.
  • Provides technical support to internal customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
  • Works independently and prioritizes work schedule of service calls a majority of the time, may require direction from Lead or Supervisor sporadically.
  • Maintains own tool inventory to ensure adequate supply to perform duties.

PDS Tech is seeking candidates to fill an Equipment Maintenance Tech position in Pleasanton, CA

The “Equipment Services Technician” position has the following responsibilities for the Engineering Services group. This group supports the Pleasanton manufacturing plant by maintaining, calibrating and repairing laboratory equipment. What You’ll Do:

Build and test of various laser components (optical, mechanical, and electrical) in support of engineering development and pilot production.
Work closely with other technicians and engineers in executing tasks that could include cable harness assembly, subassembly & box level assembly / test, thermal testing, fiber optic splicing, and other similar assembly and test tasks both in the R&D labs and on the pilot production line.
Support the upkeep of the labs including ordering consumable supplies, tracking calibrated equipment, and other similar tasks
What You’ll Need:

Experience in wire harness build and routing.
Mechanical assembly history and familiarity with electrical systems and circuit boards.
Attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, good organizational skills, computer literacy, and a demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
Ability to read blue prints, schematics, and drawings and following verbal and written instructions.
Experience reading work instructions and performing tasks as per instructions.
Desired skills
Educational background and/or experience in electronics or optics.
Experience running, testing, and measuring lasers or complex optical systems.
Experience in handling fiber, fiber splicing equipment including fiber polishing equipment.
Experience in testing and troubleshooting electrical systems and replacing electrical connectors, terminal lugs, and wires
