CMM Technician

Description:
Responsibilities:

• Candidate will be responsible to work in a cross functional environment utilizing PC-DMIS programming skills as applied to an Articulating Romer ARM and DCC CMM's.
• Candidate will also be responsible to perform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials. May include but is not limited to first article parts, in-process and final inspection on assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications / drawings.
• Candidate will utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and CMM’s.
• Approves or rejects items and documents inspection results as required. Communicates with internal customers as required to resolve inspection, engineering and manufacturing challenges.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of in-process and final inspection experience.
• Must have PC-DMIS experience using direct CAD models.
• Minimum 3 years recent CMM inspection.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• ISO 9001 / AS9100 experience a plus.
• Romer Arm experience is preferred but it is not required with sufficient PC-DMIS skills.
• Understanding of process control experience is a plus.

Design Engineer 3

Description:
This position requires a strong background in Aerospace Engineering/Design with an emphasis on pneumatic, mechanical and electro-mechanical components/assemblies. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design, analysis and prototyping of pneumatic fluid control devices such as solenoid and motor operated pneumatic valves. The candidate should have a broad background including work with mechanical devices and subsystems, preferably for use in military or commercial aviation. Knowledge of airborne weapon systems and /or weapon carriage equipment is strongly desirable.

Specialist knowledge regarding the sizing of flow elements, design and operation of high pressure pneumatics, hydraulics, motor actuators and solenoids will be a strong differentiator for candidate selection. Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a fast paced environment as a member of a cross functional team and as an individual contributor.


SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
Minimum BSME, BSAE and 7 to 10 years experience in relevant design/development environment, preferably for military or commercial aviation.

Knowledge of manufacture of mechanical components and assemblies with emphasis in complex electromechanical systems, or large structures

Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, their capabilities, strengths and weaknesses. Prior assembly or shop experience is a plus

Design Engineer II for an opening in Canoga Park, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position is for a development engineer in support of development of rocket engine combustion devices hardware (injectors, combustion chambers, nozzles, ignitors). Responsibilities include design support, trade studies, hardware development, specification preparation and release, fabrication support, test planning, vendor/supplier integration and coordination.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES


This individual will work in the Experimental Engineering department and will be responsible for conducting R&D and certification ground/flight tests. The candidate will be responsible for test preparation, planning instrumentation installations, instrumentation and equipment calibration, programming data acquisition software, data reduction, and test reporting. Description:

Candidate will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and repair of standard tools for the Palmdale site. Responsible for working with Tool Design and Engineering personnel on producibility issues related to standard tools. Individual must have knowledge of pneumatic tools, powerfeed motors, drilling, grinding, machining, and fastener installation. Responsible for evaluating ergonomic tooling. He/she will be required to create quick solutions to manufacturing problems and modify standard tools to fit unique area/program requirements. Responsible for providing tools on startup programs to include cutting tools, motors, fastener installation tooling and gauging.

Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory:

Working knowledge of the Standard Tools which includes any of the following: sheet metal, assembly tooling, hand tools, machine shop tools, sheet metal fabrication tools, plumbing cable/electrical tooling, and quality control tooling. -Knowledge and experience with any of the following: pneumatic tools, powerfeed motors, drilling, grinding, machining, and fastener installation. -Experience with either of the following CAD Software programs: Catia, SolidWorks, Or Pro/E -Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Tool Designer
The Tool Designer performs standard tooling design assignments usually representing a significant portion of a larger project. The Tool Designer will utilize engineering techniques and tools to support production, solve manufacturing issues and make design recommendations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design tooling, jigs, fixtures and templates to support all aspects of production.
Prepare appropriate documentation for assigned projects.
Specify and order parts and materials as required to support assigned projects.
Ensure successful completion of assigned projects within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
Participate in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.
Provide technical support to the shop floor and other departments as necessary to resolve production and/or tooling issues.
Participate in engineering design reviews to identify tooling requirements early in the product design phase.
Interface with engineering and shop personnel as required, and studies 3D models, product specifications, engineering blueprints, tool requests and shop data to determine the most cost effective solution for production issues.
Apply standard engineering design principles, techniques and mathematics to develop tooling configurations and designs.
Select and specify standard items such as hardware and materials to incorporate into tooling designs.
Create preliminary sketches, CAD models, layouts and detail drawings of tooling with 3D solid modeling CAD programs.
Conduct and/or participate in tooling project design reviews as required.
Provide production floor, machine shop and assembly support for technical matters relating to tooling fabrication and use.
Modify tool designs as needed based on input from manufacturing engineering, production floor supervision and end users to improve tool life and/or performance.
Follow assigned projects to a successful conclusion to ensure usable tooling and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited university or 5 years of applicable experience working in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
2 years of Tool Design in a manufacturing environment


Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Engineering field from an accredited four-year college or university
Knowledge of aerospace industry and related standards and codes

    Description:
    This position will be responsible for the development of conceptualized tooling solutions and creation of CAD models to support the tooling requirements for low pressure ECS ducting at an off-site location. The Tool Design Engineer III will utilize extensive knowledge and experience to plan and accomplish goals. The incumbent in this position will develop technical solutions to problems with a high level of complexity and will exercise considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives and methodology for the tooling.     Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
    Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field is preferred and a minimum of 10+ years of tooling experience in the Aerospace Industry or related field or the equivalent in training, education and experience.
    Requires advanced knowledge of CATIA V5 CAD software as well as MS Office products.

    Physical Requirements: Individual must be able to sit for extended periods of time, working at a desk and/or attending meetings.
