Control Systems Engineer

Description:
Responsibilities:
 Accountable for field engineering support to the Disneyland Resort and supporting departments, including control systems engineering services for ride, show, and other ride related control systems. These services include: planning, organizing, and leading teams in troubleshooting; problem resolution; system operational enhancement; system reliability improvement; and documentation.
 Must have sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing in various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions. Respond to mechanical and control emergencies resulting from Attraction downtimes at the Resort.
 Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of Sustaining Engineering projects
 Ensure electrical efforts comply with codes, e.g. NFPA, ASTM, DOSH, NEC/CEC, etc.
 Select systems and equipment that will satisfy design parameters, applicable codes, and standards.
 Produce specifications and develop scope of work documentation
 Monitor schedule(s)
 Track project status and Attraction downtime trends
 Monitor control system performance to ensure systems operate within established performance criteria

Basic Qualifications:
 Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited University (Required)
 Controls Systems experience with 1-5+ years in the
 amusement park industry or industrial/manufacturing environment
 Ride element performance analysis: dynamic, kinematic, hydraulic and pneumatic analysis and calculations
 Knowledge gained by experience in the following:
 Electronic control systems and signal processing, including familiarity with relays and programmable logic controllers
 Electrical motor controls including variable frequency drives and soft starts
 Variety of industrial automation PLC manufacturers
 National and California Electrical Code
 Nationally recognized Testing Laboratory certifications such as TUV, UL, etc.
 AutoCAD
 Object oriented programming
 C and C++ programming
 Ladder logic

Preferred Qualification:
 Controls Systems experience with 6+ years in the amusement park industry or industrial/manufacturing environment
 Military electrical/electronic experience
 Knowledge gained by experience in the following:
 Controls circuit design and/or troubleshooting
 PDL - Program Design Language
 ICL - Imagineer's Control Language
 HIGHLY PREFERRED: California Professional Registration (P.E. or F.E.)
