Hybrid Electrical Vehicle Engineer

Description:
*This is full time, 5-6 month contract position, located in San Jose*



We are seeking a contract Electrical Engineer who will be working on Hybrid Electric military combat vehicles. Candidate will work on vehicle design and integration of electrical/electronic components, electric power (including cable design and electronic usage and communication equipment). Daily use will include lab test equipment [oscilloscopes, power analyzers, CAN bus diagnostics tools, etc.] as well as software tools like LabVIEW [test and verification].



Daily duties will be comprised of semiconductor power switching devices and isolated gate drivers, DC-DC converter and DC-AC inverter design topologies and high-power at power levels greater than 100kW and voltages greater than 500V. Candidate will be working with with magnetics design and DC/AC military specifications (commercial power standards and testing requirement also).



Required:
*7 years’ experience in design of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), preferably military prototype design.

*Applicant must be adept at working in a lab environment, using typical lab tools.
*Experience with vehicle networking; conducting trade studies.
*Knowledge of 28V power generation/distribution/management/battery management systems.
*Experience in creating electrical block diagrams and schematics; Experience in EMI and EMC.
*Familiar with software tools such as SPICE (Simulink or Visio are acceptable) simulation tools,
*BSEE

*Must be able to travel 25% domestically, and work overtime as needed.



Pluses:
*Experience with military tracked vehicle 28V systems; AC/DC military specifications.
*Experience with high-powers >100kW and voltages greater than 500V

*Familiar with magnetics design.
