Quality Assurance Engineer - Level 2

Description:
Location: Lexington, KY
Rate: $30.00 - $35.00/HR
Duration: 6 month contract
Shift: 1st Shift
Per Diem Split: Yes (if eligible)
Overtime: Exempt

Job Description
- This position is for a Quality Engineer (QE) supporting the electrical fabrication and assembly of parts on a production floor.
- Hardware includes electrical harness fabrication and electrical assemblies.
- Performs a variety of activities to insure accuracy and completeness of technical fabrication documentation and test processes.
- Reviews and develops information for testing, fabrication, assembling and inspecting units, assemblies and systems based on review and knowledge of specifications, sketches, drawings, schematics and manufacturing process plans.
- Tracks and controls non-conformance documents and test anomalies.
- Reviews final build documentation for accuracy and assures control of build records and issuance of serial numbers.

Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory:
- Able to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods to turn materials into products
- Demonstrated basic understanding of audit techniques
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Ability to interpret Drawings, Specifications, Contracts that will enable development and review of QE Processes, and related Performance Metrics
- Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex
- Effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, including Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Planning
- Effective Communication Skills: Written, Oral, Listening, Presentation, Technical Writing
- Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.

Desired:
- Technical Engineering Degree in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
- Experience in Electrical Production floor level, Quality Assurance inspection processes and procedures supporting mechanical fabrication, machining and assembly
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/ AS9100 requirements with interpretation and application experience
- Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
- ASQ CQE and / or CQIA
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision in a fast paced environment
- GDAT technical experience
