Manufacturing Engineer – Level 3

Description:
Location: Bothell, WA
Rate: $40.00 - $45.00/HR
Duration: 1 year contract
Shift: 1st Shift

Job Description:
- This work will include supporting the development of fiber laser systems that are field deployable in military and commercial environments.
- The Manufacturing Engineer will work in between both development and production.
- The engineer will perform functions to design, develop, and optimize fabrication processes for fiber lasers.
- The engineer will evaluate potential new fabrication and production equipment for effectiveness and relevance.
- The engineer will participate in transition of new designs from development into production, activities will include process development, first article build support, review of assembly and test defect data, answer Corrective Action Requests, etc. to assure technical objectives are met. - The engineer will also drive continuous process improvement through utilization of Lean/Six Sigma techniques, current Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification preferred.

Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory:
- 5 to 7 years of demonstrated work experience in both a development and production environment of fiber laser systems that are field deployable.
- Strong organization skills are required.
- Strong verbal & written communications skills are required.
- Attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, good organizational skills, computer literacy, and a demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, industrial processes, technical writing, and teaming.
- Candidate should have a good understanding and demonstrated application of technical and problem solving skills in the area of manufacturing and production.
- Candidate should have the ability to clearly communicate instructions, verbally and written, providing clear direction.

Desired:
- Experience in laser / optical manufacturing processes
- Experience in fiber optic fusion splicing
