Structural Analyst

Description:
A Structural Analyst job with Belcan Engineering Group is currently available in Cincinnati, OH or Lexington, KY. This job is a full-time direct position. To be considered for this role, you will need Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent, and 4 years of experience in airframe structural analysis. In this job your primary responsibility will be classical hand calculation and finite element analysis for aircraft and suborbital spacecraft. You will report to an Analysis Group Leader as a key member of an integrated product team.

Airframe Structural Analyst job duties:
* Perform structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) as well as classical aircraft hand stress analysis methods
* Generate and maintain ownership of air and space vehicle structural finite element models
* Perform plan, model, and results reviews, internally and with the customer
* Ensure that calculations and models are systematically checked and validated
* Perform analysis, evaluate results, and prepare formal reports of the findings
* Liaise with heat transfer, fluids, design engineering, drafting, and other teams as required
* Maintain strong communication with the internal project management and with the client
* Oversee a team of junior analysts to achieve project success
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
* 4 years of airframe or aerospace vehicle structural analysis
* 2 years of experience using FEMAP with NASTRAN
* 2 years of airframe stress hand calculation
* 2 years analysis of composite aircraft structures
* Proficiency in understanding technical drawings
* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
* US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
* 5-6+ years of experience with airframe composites, FEMAP, NASTRAN, and hand calculations
* Experience using CATIA
* Experience with Fatigue and Durability And Damage Tolerance (DaDT) analysis
* Experience with MATLAB, PYTHON, MATCHCAD, NASGRO, and HYPERSIZER
* Previous experience working for an aircraft or launch vehicle OEM
