Aerodynamics Performance Engineer (Aircraft Engines) - China - 2-5 years

Description:
Leading Chinese civil aerospace engine development organization are seeking a Technical Expert in the field of Aerodynamic performance testing for complete engine and components. This will involve the development of test validation strategies and implementation of tests for a range of technical areas including:-

* Engine compression systems (fan, booster stage, high pressure compressor)
* Combustion systems
* Engine turbo system (including high and low pressure turbine)

The work will also involve the technical coordination of domestic and foreign research organisations, as well as providing technical consultancy in the design and testing of civil aircraft whole & core engine systems & components.

You will be an experienced engineer who has worked in the development of aircraft engine systems, with specific knowledge of aerodynamic performance testing strategy and implementation covering complete engine systems. You will have the ability to project manage validation projects and have a good knowledge of systems integration activities. Experience of airworthiness approval for civil aircraft engines is also preferred.

Ideally the client is looking to hire someone on a fixed-term employment basis working directly for the Chinese client in Shanghai, with initial durations of between 2 and 5 years available (renewable). In addition to a generous salary the remuneration package includes accommodation (or allowances), home leave and local travel allowances, healthcare provision and other benefits.

Description:
Plan, organize and prioritize work contents based on project deliverables.

Perform detailed stress analysis of aircraft cabin or cargo components, by classical hand analysis as well as Finite Element methods, to support the structural design efforts of new and modified components from the conceptual phase to development and certification.

Generate stress substantiation reports.

Description:
Industrial Engineer conducts analysis with area Management and support staff to establish and maintain daily work activities. Job Description

Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, procedures, design or operational test results.
Operate industrial equipment.
Select tools, equipment, or technologies for use in operations or projects.
Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing (NDT) of products, or materials.
Calibrate scientific or technical equipment.
Interpret the results of all methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) such as acoustic emission, electromagnetic, leak, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, neutron radiographic, radiographic, thermal or infrared, ultrasonic, vibration analysis, and visual testing.
Test performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment.
Examine structures or vehicles such as aircraft, trains, nuclear reactors, bridges, dams, and pipelines using non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
Visually examine materials, structures, or components using tools and equipment such as endoscopes, closed circuit television systems, and fiber optics for signs of corrosion, metal fatigue, cracks, or other flaws.
Inspect equipment or systems.
Produce radiographic images of objects on film to detect flaws in objects while leaving objects intact.
Measure physical or chemical properties of materials or objects.
Develop or use new non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as acoustic emission testing, leak testing, and thermal or infrared testing.
Identify defects in solid materials using ultrasonic testing techniques and map the presence of imperfections within objects using sonic measurements.
Test characteristics of materials or structures.
Prepare reports and document non-destructive testing (NDT) results, methods, and processes
Document design or operational test results.
Conduct liquid penetrant tests to locate surface cracks by coating objects with fluorescent dyes, cleaning excess penetrant, and applying developer.
Inspect finished products to locate flaws.
Evaluate material properties, using radio astronomy, voltage and amperage measurement, or rheometric flow measurement.
Identify defects in concrete or other building materials, using thermal or infrared testing.
Devise research or testing protocols.
This position may have supervisory requirements such as:

Supervise or direct the work of non-destructive testing (NDT) trainees or staff.
Supervise engineering or other technical personnel.
Requirements:

Must have current certification in NDT Testing UT

Ability to operate multiple types ultrasound transducers including an Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducer (EMAT)

Ability to operate

Valid Driver’s License

Available to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular/ repetitive basis

Available to work 10-12 hours per day
