This position:
• Contributes to the design of major Integrated Thermal Systems components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) equipment, develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches and notes necessary to present design proposals to internal and external customers.
• Creates layouts and drawings of complex assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures.
• Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost.
• Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.

• Supports development of technical solutions to complex problems which require regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

Skills / Experience
• Current experience generating solid models and drawings in PTC Creo Parametric (Pro-E) 4.0 or higher a must: 14,000 hours.
• Experience in advanced assembly techniques in Creo Parametric including skeleton driven top-down design, simplified reps and other large assembly management techniques.
• Experience in Pro/INTRALINK 11.0 or higher. Recent experience in Winchill or similar PDM/PLM software may be considered.
• Experience applying and interpreting ASME Y14.5 drawing standards.
• Knowledge of applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to drawings.
• Experience with Teamcenter a plus.
• Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to clearly present technical information.
• Strong customer service skills.

Seeking an experienced structures & systems test engineer to support testing of mechanical systems and avionics components, assemblies, and integrated systems. The main tasks of this role are to define test requirements with internal customers, write test plans, design test stands and execute tests under the direction of the Engineering lead and/or Manager. Engineers in this position are expected to have knowledge of industry standard test practices and methods as well as engineering skills in design and analysis to required to develop custom tests.


Must have experience with:
• Mechanical systems, specifically pneumatic valves.
• RTCA – DO-160
• Vibration & thermal testing
• Functional testing
• Knowledge of test procedures
• Acceptance testing
• Data analysis
• Thermocouples
• CAD drawings – CATIA V5
• FEMAP and NASTRAN
• LabView
• SolidWorks
• Must be able to write reports


Your Mission:
• Design tests plans and equipment for validation of complex mechanical or structural components and systems.
• Write test plans and procedures to define and support execution of tests.
• Interface with internal customers on integrated program teams to establish and verify specific test requirements.
• Work with support teams and vendors to procure, manufacture and assemble test articles and test stand hardware and equipment.
• Analyze test data to verify test requirements and write test reports to document test results.
• Interface with external test laboratories to facilitate testing for design and analysis teams.
• Participate in the test engineering review, approval and release process.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of testing practices, including test processes, lab procedures and lab technology implementation.


What you bring:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• 4-8 years’ or more experience in aerospace with an emphasis on testing or equivalent laboratory test engineering experience
• CAD modelling experience – Experience with Catia V5 preferred
• Experience with simulation and finite element analysis preferred – NASTRAN, Femap
• Experience with DO-160 environmental test standards for mechanical systems
• Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA are highly desired
• Focus on safety and reliability in testing.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline.
Professional Requirements
• 8 plus years or more experience in aerospace with an emphasis on testing or equivalent laboratory or flight test engineering experience
• CAD modeling and drafting experience – Experience with Catia V5 preferred
