Description:
Provide expertise for the design and manufacturing of aerospace components (Metallic & Composite aircraft structure, systems installation and hardware/materials).

Participate in the identification of design ideas.

Analyze current engineering design and proposed new Design solution to facilitate the assembly of the components.

Support Design plan, coordinate its implementation and draw conclusions.

Support recommendation to senior management on strategies to Design assembly improvement.

Support prioritization of ideas implementation, based on ROI (Return on Investment) but also other criteria's and program requirements.

Support processes and strategies around the batching/combination of ideas to ease the implementation of design improvements.

Review supplier drawings, dimensional tolerances, Datum definition, manufacturing processes, process capabilities, tooling philosophy and provides recommendations as needed.

Support integration team in the preparation of the Product Change Request (PCR).

Requirements:

Have a University degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering or in a related field of Design.

Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in aircraft structure and manufacturing organization.

Have a good understanding of design, manufacturing and quality processes used in aerospace for metallic and composite structures, system installation and hardware/materials.

Have prior experience in design for assembly or other aircraft program optimization activity, an asset.

Must have knowledge of aircraft structures (Primary & Secondary) & Systems Installations, hydraulics, fuel etc., detailed assembly installations and detailed drawings 3DMBD.

Must have knowledge of SAP, CATIA V5/ENOVIA and (GD&T) Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.

Must have excellent troubleshooting skills.

Have great communication skills: can explain complex problem in simple words.

Are able and efficient at managing several projects in parallel.

Have a high sense of commitment, and a willingness to accept responsibilities while acting independently in a high-pressure and production ramp-up environment.

Have working experience using Catia V5 and Microsoft tools.

Are bilingual (French and English), is an asset.

Are able to travel to on-site supplier in USA, Europe and Asia.
